Nice post, had never read that article. Was in the student section for that game, Caddy carried us through and the place was pretty well rocking, but not a patch on LSU 04 or UF 05.

Pic six game or his head would have literally exploded on Dec, 2 1989.

Really wish there was more footage and high definition existed from that day. I was in section 9 and by shortly after kickoff, there was literally a hazy fog rising up out of the student section from people losing their mind and shaking the old paper shakers so hard they were coming apart just minutes into the game.

Yep, never seen another game atmosphere like 89 Bama, doubt I ever will again. Both sides were going nuts the entire game.

I was at this game...

We were down 17-0, wound up winning in triple OT. Great game.

was in the student section that day. got to the stadium 2 hours early and wound up almost at the top of the endzone. The haze from shaker dust hung over the entire stadium like fog by the river in the morning. We would shake them until all strands were gone, drop the wood handle pick up another and go again. I think everybody was cleaning their sinuses of blue "gunk" for 2 or 3 days. It was glorious and amazing. The thing i most remember about that week was the feeling that we were the undefeated team going into that game. Alabama had no shot of winning that day, even if the game was played 10 times, they would have lost them all.
