Whats yours? heres mine from a long time ago.

I graduated from AU in 1984. Immediately got a job working in the ocean freight business and got the opportunity to travel some. My first trip to Japan was in October 1987. AU had some pretty good teams under Pat Dye at the time.

Florida was a major rival and H A T E D. I mean I hated those motherfrickers. It wasnt a friendly rivalry like UGA was then. This was a home and home shite fight. This was even prior to the HBC being there.

Anyway, I went to Tokyo on business for 2 weeks. Over the weekend in between, AU played UF. I was beside myself. Of course there was no internet or anything then. So I told my wife that I would call her at approximately half time to get the score.

Japan is 12 hours ahead time zone wise from Atlanta, so a 730 ESPN game on saturday night was about 730AM Sunday morning in Tokyo. So, I got up early on sunday and hung out waiting to call.

Meantime, I got fooling around with the radio in Tokyo seeing if I could find either an English speaking station or atleast American music. In doing so, I stumbled across AFN...American Armed Forces Radio!!! And low and fricking behold, what should MAGICALLY come forth from the radio...but the voice of Jim Fyffe!! the AU game was on the frickING AIR in Tokyo Japan. I was over the moon.

Meantime, the Ozzy Osbourne in me says..."What would you be doing right now at home?" Answer: Drinking bourbon whiskey and watching the game and screaming at the TV like a fricking madman.

Sooo. I spy the mini-bar. Crack..out comes the Jack Daniels. Im now with a straight shooter of JD at 8AM on sunday morning...and yelling at and with the radio as UF and AU play.

Meantime, the Japanese maid comes to clean the room. She sees this big American guy listening to an english language radio program she has no idea what it is.. with a drink in hand on early sunday morning. Very wide eyed maid, made that room up faster than I think it had ever been done!

Auburn won that game thank Jesus 29-6. Was sweet revenge for Kerwin Bell ripping our heart out 18-17 the year before.

Alright here's mine.

The year was 2014.. I was a junior at Auburn and we had just pulled off the most miraculous regular season I'd ever seen. Add on top of that a fun trip to Atlanta and a surprise loss by Ohio State and suddenly I found myself hopping off a plane at LAX with a dream and my cardigan. And then I toured and enjoyed the beautiful southern California coast until the fateful day came where we made the drive over to Pasadena. We go to the game and Auburn played Florida State and I don't remember much about the game because it was so long ago but it didn't end well and I probably cried on my way back to the airport when I realized I had to return to the state where people like Harvey Updyke are a common breed.

Somehow I'm still alive to tell that tale today and FWIW it's a completely true story. The End.

I went to Pasadena with my wife on that magic carpet ride last year too. To be honest, I was sad we lost, but the whole year was just ridiculous. Was a blast.

Havent been to many away games for Auburn, to be honest. But was in Ole Miss 2010, got to see Kodi complete a TD pass to Cam in person.

Was definitely a good one.

Yeah looking back on it the majority of the trip I was just appreciative of everything we had accomplished and I still am. They defied all odds and won in manners I never thought I'd see in my life. That made the ending bittersweet but enjoyable nonetheless

In 2010 I was sitting on the steps of the upper deck in Bryant Denny about to leave when I decided to call my dad who was watching at home so that we could bitch about the fact that an inferior UA team was beating us like their fans beat their dogs and smaller family members. Just about the time I was getting up to leave and sulk I heard the Auburn section yelling and a bunch of bama fans in the concession line start cussing. My dad, due to the delay, had to wait a few seconds to inform me that we had forced a fumble on a run that looked like it was going to be another touchdown for UA. I walked back to my seat and watched the best comeback in Auburn history.

Just as Cam took the final knee and began running around, some bama fans in front of me dumped their monopoly money in pure anger and frustration. It was a beautiful sight, as was the orange and blue sunset that greeted us as we exited the stadium. The masses of UA fans were utterly silent walking out. I'll never go to another game in BD, because there is no way anything is going to top 2010.

So I spent 5 weeks this summer at a Honduran orphanage. The orphanage is pretty well supported by the Lee County area (thanks in large part to First Baptist Opelika) and has three Auburn alumni that are full-time staff down there - the volunteer coordinator, the schoolmaster, and the director. So there's a lot of AU stuff down there. They've got some old AUMB bass drums that they bust out every once in a while, particularly for their Honduran Independence Day celebration ( wareaglereader link). In five weeks down there, I don't I saw my boss, the director, without a hat or shirt that said "AU" on it, except maybe at church.

There's even a golf cart that looks like it came from the university in some fashion because it's decked out with AU stuff, tiger stripes, etc. hardcore.

So I'm down there for the Fourth of July, and there's a staff/volunteer 4th of July party that night. I end up sitting and talking to a couple girls from Ireland when at some point, one of them points at the AU on my visor and says, "You know, when we first got down here, I thought that was some sort of symbol or logo for the orphanage."

At which point another girl, who was from somewhere up North, said, "Yeah, when I got on a plane to Central America, I didn't realize I was just going to end up in Alabama."

8 of my junior marines went to AU last weekend for Halloween. Apparently they had a blast partying with all the guys and AU girls. I have been listening to "weagle weagle war damn eagle" all day every day this week. They are in Love with the place now and most of them (plus a few new ones) that aren't going home for the holiday are going back for the game this weekend.

ETA. they are all Yankees or west coasters so its good to have some new fans from afar

I was hanging in Hong Kong that weekend and staying with this Asian family of a girl I knew. They told me I could watch the game on their computer. I get up at 4:30 AM to watch the game. The CBS Sports site won't stream the game on their internet. It was blocked for whatever reason. I had to use my phone and international data plan.

I watched the game. I brought the family some souvenir Auburn / Alabama coffee mugs. At the end of the game Verne mentioned driving from Tuscaloosa to Atlanta and stopping in my hometown where he also bought Auburn and Alabama coffee mugs. Kind of crazy since I gave them the mugs 5 minutes before he said it.

I pretty much watched the entire game until the final second. The clock hit zero on that Yeldon run, and my stream died. The nanny at their house brought me some coffee and food, and I sat there talking to her for a second figuring the game would pick back up in few minutes while they get ready for overtime. I then check my phone and my CBS Sports App pops up a final score of Alabama 31 - Auburn 28. I was like WTF, they put a second back on the clock and Cade Foster's arse redeemed himself? I checked Twitter and people were freaking out. I watched the play on Deadspin.

I left their house about 15 minutes later to go explore the city. My phone started popping up $30 late charges for going over my data plan. I ended up getting about 4 of them. It was worth it.

The end.

This kinda applies...the best I have at least. Shitty game; semi-funny story. Since I doubt I can write it better than my first attempt, I'll just repost the original. It all started on a September weekend in 2008 in Starkville, Mississippi...

I don't know who you are, how I got your pet, why I carried it around from party to party for several hours or what happened to Mr. John Hopkins (the name I gave your rabbit)....but I do know John was a hell of a drinker, he got me laid that night and he's probably happier not living in your piss-poor apartment.

Mr. Hopkins, I'm sorry you had to live in Starkville. Hop on my friend, hop on

I remember being in the stands about 20 seconds after Chris Davis crossed the goal line last year and my phone started going off with incoming texts. Damn thing almost caught on fire. i swear I got about 80 text messages in about 5 mins. I answered every one of them later.

We go to a good many away games now and I have a bunch of crazy shite but usually, its all scheduling for us. We went to Glendale in 2011. Since the flights were at a premium, we flew into Vegas, stayed a few days, did the Grand Canyon on Sunday then down to Glendale on Monday morning.

Here is where the full begins. Due to our schedules and lack of outgoing flights, The only flight we could get back to Atlanta after the game before Friday was a 6:00am flight out of Vegas on Tuesday morning. So, after getting to the game very early on Monday, tailgating all day, going to the game, we ran out to the car, drove 5 hours to Vegas. I swear we pulled up to drop the rent a car off, jumped on the shuttle, got to the airport, ran like hell to the gate and walked on the plane 1 minute before they closed the door.

People on the plane were laughing at us but we did not give a shite.

Watched the BCSNG in 2010 in a London sports bar, didn't finish until 530 am. Thenlast years NCG I got stuck for a day in Chicago, while wearing clothes meant for Southern California. That was during the polar blast, it was not fun.

Lots of people got stuck in the midwest and northeast trying to get out to California and get back.

Our first priority when we booked our flight was to make sure we stay south of the Kentucky-Ohio border even if we had to pay extra Ended up going Nashville-Vegas-LAX, LAX-Phoenix-Nashville
