Bad decisions by Jay Jacobs

I dont think Gus is in trouble but if something bad were to happen. How could you fire him? I understand Auburn is doing well financially at least as far as i know they are. But is there a worst contract Negotiator in the business other than Jay. We are still paying these coaches (NOT TO COACH)

I may be wrong, but I don't think we are paying any of those coaches anymore. Tubs, Chizik, and Barbee are coaching, and as long as they become gainfully employed as a coach we no longer have to pay a buyout. Sunny was fired "with cause", a legal term in the contract typically evoked if the coach has dun' goofed, like Sunny apparently did...it almost always means the buyout is void.

We are still paying the coaches that are working elsewhere. It is just "less" their income at their new job.

That's the way this behind the scene game is played these days. It's not all JJ's fault.

But seriously, when we first had Bruce, Gus, and Sunny, people were forgiving JJ for all his mistakes. Now, when those hires we praised him for lost some luster (or failed miserably in Golloway's case), the pitchforks are back out. I get the passion, but let's at least get our minds around which way we want to aim first.

He ran off the swimming coach then we lost our dynasty. Please do not fire Gus yet. If Gus is fired and Jay Jacobs is still AD then he will just make another bad hire likely.

I think we are paying Chiz, but less now that he is working. All coaches now get buyouts or severance if they are fired. JJ and Auburn are not alone in that area.
Chizik, who received a $7.5 million dollar buyout for the remaining years on his contract, is still being paid in monthly installments of $209,457.84, according to Alabama Open Financial Records, and will continue to be paid through the 2015-2016 fiscal year

Chizik's buyout ends Dec 31, 2015.
With UNC's salary subtracted, he's getting about 145k per month from Auburn right now.

Unless Gus does something truly destructive, like hits a player or lets a bunch of criminal activity go on, I think termination should be off the table.
