2007 - Brandon Cox
2008 - Kodi Burns
2009 - Chris Todd
2010 - Cam Newton
2011 - Barrett Trotter
2012 - Kiehl Frazier
2013 - Nick Marshall
2014 - Nick Marshall
2015 - Jeremy Johnson
2016 - Sean White
2017 - Jarrett Stidham
2018 - Jarrett Stidham
2019 - Bo Nix
2020 - Bo Nix
2021 - Bo Nix
2022 - TJ Finley
2023 - Payton Thorne

And it looks like we may add 2024 as another new starting QB. We absolutely need some stability at this position. It is a big reason that our offenses go up and down. The years that we had returning QB's, gave us stability. We need that badly going forward.

Other than Bo, who was injured in his last year, we have only had 2 other QB's start consecutive seasons in over 15years.

Better receivers help every otherwise average QB. In that sense, sure; bring it on. But an upgrade has to be sought and they’ve gotta be here for spring

Thorne looked decent tonight. He definitely needs help with receivers and some better blocking. The receivers on this roster currently are terrible. Way too many drops!

Years in which Auburn won the SECw or more: 2010, 2013, 2017. The years preceding that Auburn had a different starting quarterback. I don’t think stability is the issue.

Its a big issue. Look at UGA. Even before they were recruiting at such a stupid level, they always had 2 and 3 year starters at QB and their offense has been much better and consistent.

If we had more consistency, maybe we dont have all these bottom out seasons.

I dont think Thorne should be a starter, but we are in better hands knowing he is our fallback option (versus Ashford) *. He played decent tonight, and he played tough.

Looks like he will finish with roughly 520 rushing yards and 1700 passing yards. We need a QB that can make more happen in the passing game. I did like that we started seeing some passes in the middle.

* I dont see what Jville sees in Ashford. Thorne can run just as well as Ashford does and he is our best threat at passing.

Good QB play is definitely needed to win. However, this is only one key part of the offense. Does not matter how good the QB is, without a line that can maintain a block and receivers that can get open the QB is wasted. These two positions must improve to help the QB.

I will hand it to Thorne, he plays tough and isn't afraid to take on a LB. He probably isnt as bad as he looks. He just has no help. Same reason Bo left and will now win Heisman

I am ready to get Walker White in training camp. He won't start next year, which is fine, but hopefully he starts in 2025 and is able to carry us 3 or 4 years.

Jang, did you have a brain injury? In no way is Throne close to the runner Ashford is. Neither is he a better passer. An upgrade has to be made at the QB in the offseason. Otherwise, the results will be the same next season.

Throne was not good last year with a top 10 NFL draft pick WR.

Is he a better runner...no. But he does plenty. He did plenty to lead Auburn on the ground and the amazing thing is he rarely fumbles as part of the running game. Ashford had like 7 fumbles, 2 lost last year. Meanwhile, the defense doesn't respect Ashford's passing abilities so the holes get small since Ashford cannot make them pay.

You can keep saying that until your head goes blue.

I agree an upgrade needs to be made, but Ashford is not better than Thorne.

That was last year. Tonight he did fine. He has been mostly fine the last handful of games. Meanwhile Asford did one running play tonight and went backwards and into the fetal postiton. Might as well have Thorne in there where he presents dual threat problems to the defense.

Ah the last year crap. Now compare turnovers for each this year. Btw, Throne with yet another double digit INT season. Just like every year he’s played.

You think anyone respects Throne’s passing?

He also broke multiple tackles for a 1st down that the refs blew dead when he never touched the ground. Quit lying to try and fit your narrative, bro. You’re better than that. And I called Ashford out on the run that run he had a hole if he’d have cut it upfield.

Anyway, neither need to start next year.
