I was initially pretty upset with his switch to DB

Raiders’ first career start record—-

Stidham broke Todd Marinovich’s record of 243 passing yards in his first start against the Chiefs in 1991, according to the Raiders. The former Auburn QB had a big game and finished with 365 passing yards on 23-for-34 passing with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He also joined elite company in the NFL this season. Just two QBs have thrown for 3 passing TDs in a game this season against the 49ers: Patrick Mahomes and Stidham.

Yeah, those INTs weren’t on him. He did great today. And, that was maybe the best defense in the league he went up against.

Also for the Raiders last night, Daniel Carlson tied his career long with a 57 yarder, and also tied the NFL single season record for FGM from 50+ (10/12 on the year). He went 2/2 FG and 4/4 FG on the night (32/35 FG and 34/35 XP on the year)
Other former Auburn players yesterday:
- Angelo Blackson, Bears starting DT: 3 tackles
- Jonathan Jones, Patriots starting left CB: 4 tackles, 1 PBU, and 1 very nice INT off the hands of Tyreek Hill.
That was JJ's 4th INT of the season, and 11th of his career
- Byron Cowart ( ), Colts: 1 tackle
- Darius Slayton, WR Giants: 2 catches, 14 yards, 1 lost fumble
- Braden Smith started at RT for the Colts
- Jack Driscoll started at RT for the Eagles
- Derrick Brown, Panthers starting DT: 3 tackles and 2 QBH
- Jamel Dean, Bucs starting CB: 2 tackles
(Back after missing 2 games, and Carlton Davis was out with a shoulder injury)
- Carl Lawson, Jets starting DE: 4 tackles, 1 sack, 2 TFL
Lawson has 7 sacks on the season
- Jamien Sherwood, Jets LB: 4 tackles, 1 TFL
- CJ Uzomah, Jets starting TE: 3 catches for 24 yards
- Rudy Ford, Packers safety: already mentioned above but he had 3 tackles and 2 INT
- Josh Harris, LS for the Chargers was busy yesterday
- Monty Adams, Steelers starting nose guard: 1 tackle
Saw action, but didn't record any stats or start:
- Daniel Thomas, S, Jaguars
- Prince Tega Wanogho, OT, Chiefs
- Noah Igbinoghene, CB, Dolphins
- KJ Britt, LB, Bucs
- Chandler Wooten, LB, Panthers

He had a fumble recovery on special teams but they called it back.
He is still fun to watch.

Currently a Free Agent
He had arthroscopic knee surgery before the season, was placed on IR on September 1, and then released on October 25
The birds did Marlon dirty

Kind of wild that he's arguably been the best Gus era DL in NFL

Ummmm… Derrick Brown?

AB was wasted in Ellis Johnson's defense. He looked like the kind of guy that would be all SEC in Tub's D.

Not to mention Dee Ford and Carl Lawson, when healthy
Blackson is maybe the most successful when compared to his expectations, 4th round pick and this was his 8th season in the NFL. He was really raw when he came to Auburn, iirc he only played 2 seasons of football before he came to Auburn and he was from Delaware. But he always had the potential

quote:Yeah, he was a piece of the puzzle when Auburn was trying to land Leonard Williams (since they played HS ball together), but he was always a take regardless just on raw ability.

You sure about that? Blackson played HS ball in Delaware and according to his wiki he was born there too, Williams played HS ball in Florida and was born in Cali. Maybe there was some overlap at the private school in Delaware?

What was Blckson’s high school?
Something like “ Red Lion Academy?”
Seems like it was sort of a poor man’s IMG.
I had a friend from Delaware at the time. He said it was kind of a made up sports school or something.

That was it, and I believe you’re right. He would’ve been coming out of hs not long after IMG became a big name in the recruiting world, and a lot of copycats were popping up around the country. And like the one Blackson went to, a lot of them were using the “Christian school” model that John Curtis has been successfully using for a few decades in Louisiana. I assume that makes them easier to set up in regards to legal and academic restrictions

An article about Red Lion Christian.
Very typical process.
I guess the skinny awkward kids don’t need to be saved.
