The first takeaway from this game, is that we have a better defense. We have a lot of work to do on offense. We have a coach who still makes questionable play calls at critical times.

I blame the Aubitron for our offensive woes. It was clearly distracting JJ.

Alright,

JJ should have sleeved up
2. JJ can't do a 7 step drop
3. Gus needs to let JJ run. Call your offense. Same crap he pulled with Cam.
4. Defense was much improved. Still need much more press coverage to mess up timing.
5. Should have been a blow out. Good long term. Lots to learn from.
6. The talent is there

THIS

The major question I have is Carl Lawson's health. That defense was filthy when he was on the field because they had 2 double team him which opened everyone else. When he went out it changed things.

All of JJ's issues are in his head. I am hoping now that the hype has effectively been killed he can focus on just making smart decisions. Gus also looked like his early season play calling self.

Positives are that Danzey is a beast and our OL was outstanding. Barber showed toughness. He just goes out there and does his job. Defense is better. Basically Petrino went to a high school offense, snap it to your best athlete & let him run around. We are gonna feast on pocket passers

i agree sort of, but i think the problem with this is JJ can't run like Cam.

He seems to have good top end speed for a guy his size, but his first step just doesn't seem compatible for the read option. could totally be wrong though

I'm just saying call some read options. It was wide open all game. They were slanting DE's inside all game. Also, if he doesn't see something passing, let him take off. He doesn't have to call the designed qb runs, but let the threat be there. He called the exact same offensive game he did against Clemson in 2010. Tried to hide too much.

Maybe we have seen the last of the orange footwear!

If the D will play with that same heart every week, we can do this.

I doubt we see another offensive offense like that again this year. I am anxious to watch the replay when I get home.

How would we know when he didn't even try, but what once or twice?

He looked Fairley-esque at times. Especially the play where he disrupted the hand off leading to Garretts fumble return. I could have sworn that was #90 and not #1

up 14 at own 29 with 6 minutes and changed.

3 runs takes it to 4 minutes and change, but we threw a dropped pick and a deep ball and punted with 5 and change.

QB was struggling. Lean on the run and defense. Work the kinks out next week.
