I think everybody just needs to calm down.

What did y'all expect? Pearl's a good coach and an excellent recruiter, but he's not a miracle worker. Our second-best scorer has played in two games. Outside of a mid-year freshman addition, we don't really have any size, and we don't have a point guard.

I think we'll still have a better season than we did last year, but this is about what I expected (minus some of the sloppy play. All these turnovers have got to stop).

I just hope we can show enough to hold on to a recruit like Horace Spencer. We have to get players like that.

If you were realistic about all of this, you knew it was going to take some time. We'll lose some games we probably shouldn't and win some we shouldn't. Part of the process.

Really just Canada and Reed because he hasn't played a lot.

Tahj doesn't make a ton of mistakes but you can tell his size screws him

He was 4-9 and got to the FT line. Just gotta make the FTs. Someone on this team needs that attitude, IMO.

I think the key is a lot of them not having played together. They don't have a good feel for each others game. Once we have some consistency we'll be much improved.

We are very sloppy and do not take advantage of any opportunities. We are not a good shooting team from outside or at the foul line. Commit dumb fouls and other than Bowers, really dont rebound well

We have only won 3 games for a reason

We're playing tougher teams than last year, with no size, no depth, and a team of guys who have only played, what, 8 games together.

We could have hired Coach K, and there still would have been growing pains. I have faith these guys will gel.

I understand being upset about bonehead plays, but I doubt we would have 1 win right now with last year's squad.

There was a lot of quit in those guys.

I'm not over reacting...at least I hope not. Was I over optimistic, probably a little.

I truly hardly care about W's or L's. I mostly want to see clean, intentional, and controlled basketball play. We've only done that in 3 games, and we've won all three.

This is mostly what I'm concerned with.

I want to see improvement.

I'll concede there hasn't been much, but it's still early in the season.

I agree to a certain extent. Once Mason and KT can develop an offensive flow between them we'll be much better. Also, if Reed can start learning the offense and make his presence known on the boards it will take some pressure off Cinmeon.

WIth how athletic Reed is, if he can put on a little weight and get good instruction he could be a dominant post player.

I think it will be next season before we see how good Reed can be. He needs a lot of work in the weightroom.

That doesn't mean he won't need work in the weightroom

Damn it! UAB is 3-6. Plenty of seats available at Bartow Arena.

It's gonna take some time. Three examples, one personal:

1. Miami Heat 2010- LeBron, and Bosh join a Dwade that was a top 5 player in the league at the time. They spend all summer together, practing together, and go through Pat Riley and Spoles boot camp for several weeks in the Caribbean to bond and gel. What happens? They suck the first 12-15 games or so even though they have stupid talent.

2., Cavs this year. Similar story. Didn't start well at all through at least a dozen games.

3. I played with the same 7 guys in intramurals at AU my first 3 years. Year 1, we didn't make the playoffs. Year 2 we got blown out in the second game of the playoffs. Year three we made it to the championship. 5 rounds and smoked everyone we played. Only reason we lost the championship game was 100% because of me. Played the worst game of my life by far. Won't ever forget how bad I was that night. Still hurts today thinking about how I let myself and buddies down.

Point is, we were the same 7 guys in year three as year 1. Countless hours in the Rec, street ball tourneys (made it to the championship of hoop it up in Bham in year 3 also), etc took us from average to the best on the AU campus.

It's gonna take time.
