A lot of people get second chances. Not many do anything with it. This would be Dyer's third chance. Do not want.

I'd be happy to take Dyer back.

ETA:

Some of you assholes wanted Petrino. Dyer looks like a saint next to that asshat.

It's interesting watching some jump into the soccer mom vans that were throwing eggs at it over Petrino.

Petrino would do a lot more for a football team than Dyer will for one year. He just got kicked off the team, I can't imagine his teammates would be thrilled to have him back.

A future head coach and a player that will play one year is a totally different story.

Personally I think we're okay at RB right now. He would be an upgrade talentwise, but I rather not risk screwing with the team chemistry

I'd welcome him back.. It takes losing 9 games to realize what you had.

I supported a Petrino hire, and I'd welcome Dyer back.. I'm an atheist, so maybe that helps me forgive human failures easier than some - dunno.

.. Yes, it was on point this year.. I'd hate to mess that good vibe up.. Terrible chemistry in '10 also.. Good call.

The biggest issue that I take with that statement is that it is 100% true.

70x7, all that jazz

The chemistry in 2010 was good because of our team's Auburn vs. World mentality, and we were playing for a title. Everyone seemingly was out to get us and ruin our shot.

The chemistry was awful this year, stemming from special treatment and lack of focus (among other things) from the 2011 season. One of those players causing the rift in the team chemistry in 2011 was Dyer. All of that was a huge contributing factor to the firing of everyone football related. The slate is now clean and the players seem focused and excited about Auburn football (good team chemistry). I'd hate for us to bring back a past problem that would wreck our fresh start.

In essence

We would be a better football with a 1yr Dyer. He won't take him back (see Honey Badger). The risk is to high. He could improve our record by at least 1 win or he could get in trouble again, get kicked off the team, and make AU and Gus look stupid in his first year. Risk not worth the Reward- but its tempting. He is a bad arse running back. Better than Rudi Johnson. He ran a ton in 2011 - with no o line.

It's not about forgiving him. It's about trusting him. The reward of having him isn't huge either which makes it not worth the risk.

I would argue about this but I'm not going into religion on here.
