Only a matter of time before it’s at Jordan Hare too

quote:

Auburn is the final SEC school to offer alcohol sales at athletic events.

There are seven concession stands at Neville Arena that will have food and alcohol sales, including multiple grab-and-go refrigerator stations.

The school is selling regular domestic and import beers, four craft beers, seltzers and canned wine.

“After extensive research and discussion, Auburn Athletics made the decision to begin public alcohol sales at Neville Arena for the 2023-24 athletic season which will be followed by gradual roll outs at other athletic venues throughout the year ahead. Currently, 84 percent of all power five schools have public offerings at their venues and Auburn is the last Southeastern Conference institution to implement public sales. Multiple studies show selling alcohol in athletic venues decreases binge drinking and creates a culture with fewer alcohol-related offenses on game day.”

Technically the scholarship sections have sold alcohol in JHS for the last few years. Just the GA sections we need to get it added. This is a good first step.

I believe multiple studies that show selling alcohol helps stop pre-game binge drinking make sense as related to football. I think people can drink a good bit and then walk into the stadium without being an alcoholic.

I dont think the basketball arena necessitates pregaming though. You are probably an alcoholic if you have to drink before the basketball game.

There might be more alcoholics/binge drinkers than we think.

Yeah there are for sure a ton that abuse alcohol before walking into the stadium. I just think alcohol is a requirement for the tailgate regardless. When its hot beer taste so smooth as well.

Oh my.

Downvoted in this forum for supporting an American brewed, American owned brewery.

NOT surprised at all.

The Auburn of recent and patriotic age is merely a pleasant memory for some (hi Laniers et. al.) and an embarrassment for others (hi mods!).

First grandchild coming early next year. I only hope I live long enough to help him (yes, we already know it’s a boy, so no misogyny here you pussy frick-sticks) understand his value before this shitty world devalues him.
