Sounds like it's guys that are either leaders or ones they want to step up and be leaders on the team.

Should be a good experience for them and hopefully they can bring some of what they learn back to the team.

Thats being polite. I have a fraternity brother who became a SEAL ad the one thing that always sticks out to me about their training is that that they drown every SEAL. They kill them and then resuscitate them. Its insane.

I believe they drop them in water with their hands tied and they have to escape at least that's what I've heard.

There is a test called Drown-proofing - maybe this is where the idea you have to drown to graduate came from. BUT they do tie your feet together and hands behind your back but you do this in a pool. There are a series of skills to perform for the 30 minutes test to include bobbing, floating, swimming, flipping, and diving underwater.

Thanks for the link Catfish

RUMOR CONTROL - You have to drown and they bring you back to life before you can graduate. FALSE

Come on! This one is ridiculous. I do not even know how to answer this one when I get asked it without using profanity. Not sure where this one came from. There have been people who were saved from drowning, died from drowning in the past 50 years, but it is not a requirement for graduation.

Some of y'all need to just stop. The drowning and coming back to life aspect is the due to the fact that guys drown attempt under water swims and pass out from asphyxiation. I was born in Coronado, my dad was assigned to the teams. They won't be going to any classified facilities, doing anything crazy due to insurance liabilities. The school had to foot the bill and use some form of academic learning as the basis. Or pretend they are interested in the Navy. Their training will contain basic beach workouts, treading water, flutter kicks with flippers etc.

Exactly. You hear SEAL training and people think they are carrying SAWs and getting dropped off Coronado in a SWCC boat.
