The last 2 runs did. We are down to last 3 outs. Just have to score 4 runs on Paige Parker

Revenge sounds good until you realize we have to play a top 10 school with a legit pitching staff instead of a 25ish ranked school we could handle with relative ease.

Granted OKC wouldn't have been any easier but it's saying something to even get there.

Are you guys aware that Tracy Rocker's son is a pitcher and is considered one of, of not the, top HS baseball prospects of the 2018 class?

And he's committed to Vanderbilt?

Wtf? Kind of embarrassing that we can't get a commitment, even if he never plays in college. Especially now that we have Butch as our HC who specializes in pitchers and we have two of the top pitchers in the SEC this year, one of the top in all of the NCAA.

Anybody know what gives? Did he split from AU on bad terms when he left for the Titans?

They've been a good baseball program and Vandy is an incredible school. Good for him

As of last week from mlb.com:
LINK

quote:

The summer schedule for MLB/USA Baseball's Prospect Development Pipeline begins with a bang on Saturday in Atlanta, with a prospect-packed lineup that features the player some consider to be the No. 1 prospect in the 2018 MLB Draft, Kumar Rocker.

I doubt he ever plays college ball if that's true.

And in that case it'd be a nice courtesy for him to at least throw us a bone and help the recruiting rankings of the school that has a giant 2 story photo of his father plastered on their football stadium

quote:

Rocker, 17, is a 6-foot-4, 240-pound right-handed pitcher out of North Oconee High School (Ga.). He features a 94 mph fastball, an improving slider and changeup. He also hits for power from the right side. He's the son of former NFL defensive tackle Tracy Rocker.

Apparently he's a 5* type talent at DE too... But baseball is obviously the smart choice.

94 in high school? If true, he gone. These numbers are inflated most of the time tho.

That number comes from an article about Rocker at a camp put on for top prospects by the MLB and Team USA together, not something his HS team said.

I'm no expert in baseball scouting, but I would imagine the a player considered possibly the top draft prospect would have enough MLB scouts watching that they could get an accurate reading.

Btw, I find it an interesting coincidence that while Rocker may be considered the top prospect, many sites are projecting the #1 draft pick to be a Vanderbilt pitcher originally from Alabama, Kyle Wright.

On that note, that is always griped me about AU baseball. The state is deep in baseball talent, but we have never really tapped into it.

All three hitters were way behind in the count. Girl is gonna throw strikes. We have to hit to survive.
