Well we not in the Clemson regional. There are concerns that with some of the upsets in conference tourney we might not get in.... Consensus still seems to be tho that will just doesn't seem like a lock anymore

My bet is the FSU regional

Hard for me to get excited about being a 3 seed when we were in the top 5 nationally earlier in the year

Fsu isn't that great. If they didn't just win the acc they wouldn't have hosted. They were 33-20 at the end of the regular season

Considering we were picked to finish dead last and not even sniff the tourney I am still pumped. We sucked at the finish and that was disappointing but we overachieved this year. Also we were one of the last 4 in so wasn't certain we would make the field. Good first step for program

We absolutely have to stay in the winners bracket or we are toast.

Need Thompson and Mize to be on. If they are I think we can do it. If not then will be really quick weekend

Wish I could ride down. Personally, the baseball tournament is the best post season in college sports.

ETA:

Watch out for the teams with 2-3 great pitchers. They usually make noise in the tournament. The hitting teams are weeded out.

Teams that make it to Omaha are typically more balanced than pitching heavy. Pitching at this level can't take you all the way.

We're a super regional team at best. Our lineup can't swing well enough to get us past a legit top 8 team I don't believe. Just making it to a regional surpassed my original expectations for this team and I'm thrilled for the future of this program

Wut? Vandy and USCe basically backed into titles on amazing pitching.

and that is where we are. We need Thompson and Mize to come out and win us those first 2 games and we are in great shape against whoever comes out of the losers bracket. We drop into the loser's bracket and we are done becasue we just don't have the depth.

In a way glad we exited the SEC tournament early so that gives a chance for those two to rest and be ready to go.

Up and down those lineups they had guys that held their own at the plate and were dangerous.

South Carolina in 2011 hit .295 as a team. Vandy is a comparable team stats wise but they had talent that I'd argue is superior.

If you want to compare that Vandy team and say pitching wins then you're right. But they did it with 3 legit weekend starters and 3 guys in the bullpen who made 23 or more appearances with ERAs under 2.

Not sure what you are saying. Pitching always trumps. Especially at TDA park.

One day before I die, possibly, Auburn will make a regional and not have to freaking play FSU. If softball can send small east coast teams out west, we can play someone other than FSU every single time.

Originally we were talking about teams that make it to Omaha not teams winning in Omaha. But then you decided to back up your point with 2 National championship teams to which I countered.

This discussion was about teams getting to Omaha not how a team should be built to win in Omaha.

Just read my post. Not sure how you are arguing what I said, but whatever.
