As a highly regarded pitching coach and what he has been showing, he should be able to recruit well and keep developing. HE also seems to be a good fit with the players so even if Auburn is not a powerhouse we should remain competitive.

This team mirrors those MSU teams the past few years. College baseball is so dependent on pitching, and the pitching coach. Look at Vandy after Johnson left. Thaybhave tanked. It would appear Thompson was a major part of MSUs run the past few years.

We are riding those two right now and we can't bank on having two aces like that consistently

We won two big SEC series without one of those aces present. He seems to be more of a pitching coach anyway so I don't feel too worried in that department.

Softball team keeps on dropping in the polls.

This team has some legit pitching, but the bats just aren't good enough. Hope they get a national seed at the end of the year.

I would look for that to continue. Very few teams stay on top when they are in turmoil.

It was fun while it lasted.

Which is why I said very few. That team was special....

Not so sure you guys should compare this softball team to our 2010 football team. LOL

Not comparing. Saying championships can happen in the middle of scandal/turmoil.

He hasn't pitched in a month. State has like 9 total arms left. If we can knock pilkington out early on Friday I like our chances.

Not worried about their pitching. They make their money with their bats

Our bullpen will win or lose us the series if I had to put money on it

If Casey pitches I think we have a real shot to get three wins. State is running on fumes and I think (hope) they run out this week.

If we sweep, we should be alone atop SEC leaderboard considering UK is @ USCe

Talk about a sweep is just crazy at this point. Anyway, Jarvis had back spasms in warm ups so Will Holland is playing shortstop tonight. Robert has a sore arm so he is DHing and Conor Davis isn't in the lineup. Jeremy Johnson is getting the start in left tonight.

MSU up 1-0 after 1. Hit batter, single, and a balk.
