https://www.seccountry.com/auburn/five-recruits-for-auburn-fans-to-know-next-year
quote:
- Markail Benton, four-star linebacker, Central (Phenix City, Ala.)
Benton was a regular visitor to Auburn’s campus this past year, and was even spotted on The Plains the weekend of Jan. 15 when the Tigers hosted several notable official visitors. The No. 1 prospect in Alabama, Benton is already considered a favorite to sign with Auburn next February.
- Will Ignont, four-star linebacker, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)
A recent transfer to IMG Academy, Ignont is another linebacker Auburn will be recruiting heavily in the coming months. He unofficially visited The Plains twice this past season and will likely visit more in 2016.
- Jeffrey Okudah, five-star safety, South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, Texas)
After missing out on U.S. Army All-American Nigel Warrior, Auburn will certainly turn its attention towards recruiting Okudah, the No. 1 safety in 2017. As of now, the Tigers aren’t believed to be a favorite to land him.
- Aubrey Solomon, four-star defensive tackle, Lee County (Leesburg, Ga.)
Solomon, who has only reported a few offers, is among Auburn’s targets along the defensive line for 2017. Defensive line coach Rodney Garner and assistant coach Scott Fountain have been his lead recruiters up until this point. He is rated as the No. 7 defensive tackle in the country.
- Tray Bishop, four-star athlete, Terrell County (Dawson, Ga.)
Auburn is still at the top for Bishop, one of the better athletes in 2017. That is likely to continue unless Georgia is able to make a strong push. The four-star athlete can play either receiver or safety at the next level.
All rankings are according to the 247Sports Composite

Like our chances with Benton, Ignont & Bishop. Not sure about Solomon. Okudah is a pipe dream at this point
I am hoping we have a strong showing instate this year. Not a ton of elite talent but plenty of solid players that could fit a role in 2017

Should I follow recruiting this year, or not?
I'm leaning towards not...

Here is my class prediction. Definitely some long shots but nothing crazy.
QB
Lowell Narcisse 4* 247
RB
Alaric Williams 4* 247
Trey Sermon 4* 247
WR
Nico Collins 4* 247
Tray Bishop 4* 247
OL
Calvin Ashley 5* 247
Austin Troxell 4* 247
Netori Johnson 4* 247
D'Antne Demery 4* 247
Toryque Bateman 3* 247
TE/HB
Logan Rudolph 3* 247
DL
Aubrey Soloman 4* 247
MJ Webb 4* 247
Ryan Johnson 4* 247
LB
Will Ignont 4* 247
Markail Benton 4* 247
Thomas Johnston 3* 247
Malik Robinson 3* 247
DB
Carlito Gonzalez 3* 247
Tre Shaw 4* 247
Leanthony Williams Jr. 4* 247
William Poole Jr. 4* 247
I'm sure this is way off because targets change all the time throughout the year and new guys come on the radar. This would put us at 289.65 on the 247 composite. Based on previous years that is top 5 easily, most likely top 3. Clearly we need a strong season this year or this won't happen though. Also, it will be tough to pull off that OL haul, but I think it is possible.

Not ridiculous for this early into the cycle
I think Nico ends up at bama and not sure if we are gonna take 4 LBs unless we aren't happy with development of last year's group or Tre Williams leaves early for NFL (which right now I don't see happening)
RB recruiting is going to be really interesting this year. Personally I like Devan Barrett a lot. He is NCM's teammate but not sure how much interest he has in us

By class prediction you mean base case scenario?
I hope you're right though I'd take that class right now and call it a day.
I think Troxell and Collins will end up at bama
Poole is UGA
LeAnthony Clemson

Looks like we're going to have to RA this thread a lot to get it pinned. I've tried twice now

Our mods are slow as pond water to pin and unpin stuff.

Good news! Netori Johnson, should become one of the good guys at an upcoming JR day.
Take it, or leave it.

Not surprising given his decommitment and AJax

Well then, why didn't you just predict it?
(The term "Feckless" comes to mind)

I wasn't knocking you or your prediction. Just commenting on the positive trend in his recruitment taking the next logical step
