You mean when Emory blake had nearly 800 yards despite having Keihl Frazier/Jonathan Wallace throwing him the ball

Yes..... If Emory Blake can have nearly 800 receiving yards, then that means production by the WRs isn't impossible. So where was his help? Couldn't Trooper coach the other guys or something?

Just to be clear how wrong you are about Trooper inheriting players, the only person who had 10+ career receptions that Trooper inherited was Tommy Trot.

The only two 4*+ WRs Trooper inherited were Terrell Zachary and Tim Hawthorne who was injured his only season with Trooper

You have to be trolling right now. This is the stupidest argument I've ever read

You said his units have always performed to its highest. Well the test results have determined that would be a lie...

Again, if AA7 can give Trooper the credit for Sammie, then Trooper doesn't get credit for Darvin.

Well said ^^^ Just to reiterate Tiger Paw1's last post:

KN put up AU his August version of predictions for AU's class

Transfer Jarrett Stidham
4* ATH Tray Bishop (AU Commit)
4* RB Devan Barrett (AU Commit)
4* ATH Alaric Williams (AU Commit)
3* JUCO ATH Octavius Matthews (AU Commit)
4* JUCO WR Brandon Martin
3* ATH Kaderius Toney (UF Commit)
3* TE Tre McKitty (OR Commit, thinks he is a flip candidate)
5* OT Calvin Ashley (AU Commit)
4* OT Austin Troxell (AU Commit)
4* OG Nick Brahms (AU Commit)
3* JUCO OT D'Marcus Hayes
3* JUCO OG Jordan Agasiva (has become our top OG target after Randolph committed to Bama)
4* DE Ryan Johnson (could move inside to DT)
4* DE MJ Webb (could move inside to DT)
4* JUCO DE Isaiah Buggs (called this his darkhorse pick)
4* LB Tadarian Moultry (AU Commit)
3* LB Chandler Wooten (AU Commit)
4* LB Kenney Britt
4* LB Tyler Taylor
4* CB Malcolm Askew (AU Commit)
3* ATH JaTarvious Whitlow (rising up our board as CB target)
3* S Carlito Gonzalez (AU Commit)
3* S Jordyn Peters (should announce before Aug 19th)
2* K Anders Carlson (AU Commit)
NR LS Bill Taylor (AU Commit)

This class would give us rating of 261.63 as of now putting us in the 11-15 rank range. Although Stidham is not included in that and he is a former 247 5* & composite #34 player in the country

Trooper inherited a bunch of guys as well.

Trooper inherited (rankings via Scout) 3-star Terrell Zachery, 3-star Darvin Adams, 5-star (as a QB) Kodi Burns, 3-star Quindarius Carr, and 2-star Derek Winter and he signed 3-star Emory Blake, 3-star Travante Stallworth and 3-star Deangelo Benton.

And others useless leftovers and hangers-on from previous years.

Golly, look at all that major talent!

Duke was our only true receiver last year and he didn't even last. If you want true receivers you have to start training your WR's to run more more routes than "go run down the field."

My favorite is when about 3 of them run downfield for about 5 yards then stop turn and look at the 4th guy to see if he's going to catch the pass that hasn't even been thrown yet

Deangelo Benton was actually a five star in high school.
Who DC inherited:
Quan Bray: 14 catches, 94 yards, 6.7 ypc
Trovon Reed: 9 catches, 122 yards, 13.6 ypc, 1 TD
Sammie Coates: 6 catches, 114 yards, 19.0 ypc, 2 TD
Ricardo Louis: 3 catches, 36 yards, 12.0 ypc
Jaylon Denson: 1 catch, 12 yards, 12 ypc

Nobody had more than 139 yards receiving in 2012 other than Emory Blake. DC had a bare cupboard to work with given he only had five scholarship receivers and one eventually injured himself against LSU in 2013 and never recovered.

I think I remember him being a 5* back in 2009 on Rivals, which was the strongest recruiting site at the time. I could be wrong.

Yes, then he bounced around (with a stop at Hargraves, I believe) until he finally got to Auburn as a 3-star (like I said, via Scout).

And his performance at Auburn validated Scout's judgement.

If you're going to talk about talent, you need to bring up that he was a five star talent. His performance was because he didn't have all his nuts and bolts tightened in his brain.

If you ask if I'd rather Trooper or DC, I'd choose DC everyday as WR coach.

Just pointing out that losing DC as WR coach wasn't end of the world. Even if WR coaches don't do much, a shitbag like Trooper consistently put up similar to better WR seasons

By all accounts, Kodi Burns is supposedly a solid recruiter. If KB can coach at the same level it may be a downgrade but not iceberg meets Titanic problem

TL:DR sucks to lose DC but the dropoff isn't Gus to Scot Loeffler

No, he was a 3-star talent.

Just like I said previously.
