Welcome to the state of Alabama. Where religious nut jobs dominate state politics. Where they celebrate self-governancev while being near the bottom in every positive statistical category.

I'm at our Birmingham office until Monday so I thought about driving down and seeing the game. But I think I'm going to catch a UAB game at Regions instead.

That sounds dumb. I'm driving down from Birmingham Saturday morning and coming back Sunday. I would be leaving today if I didn't have a bid due at 5 today.

Not really. It used to be but they've done a solid job improving it.

Sure, if you venture into the hood for drugs and illegal handguns.

Otherwise it's a really nice town.

Unfortunately when I'm here I have to get a lot done. And if it rains in Auburn I'll have committed about 8 hours of my day to a rained out baseball game I'll go another time. Regions park is nice.

Headed to the bottom of the 4th down 4-3. Daniel Robert robs a homer for out number 3.

Bases loaded with 2 away in the bottom of the 9th and the 3B ump calls a foul ball fair and the third baseman step to his left to tag 3rd. Ball game. Tigers fall 8-7. Butch who is not one to get mad and go after an ump was livid.

Probably, we have to be the most unlucky team in the country through our first 14 games.

From former MLB scout Frankie Piliere:

quote:

• Anfernee Grier (2016, Auburn) is making his presence known in a big way in front of scouts early on this season. And he’s doing so by adding the thump to his offensive game that scouts have been looking for. Not only is Grier hitting over .400 this season, but he also has four home runs. Grier picked up another five hits over the weekend, and he continues to look like one of the best handful of athletes in the nation. Some scouts are now discussing him as a clear first round draft choice. Grier is a plus runner, is a defensive asset in center field. Scouts projected him as a plus range center fielder over the summer, and they knew his speed and athleticism would be a huge key to his early round status. But now that he’s showing potential big league average power, it takes him to a completely different level as a prospect. This is a stronger, more balanced, new and improve Anfernee Grier, and he’s one of the hottest prospects in the nation at the moment.

He started this hot last year too, minus the homers but more doubles, but he tailed off mightily throughout the year. I am interested to see how he looks in June.

Our defense is bad, especially Deas. I feel like he has an error every game I watch.
