I wouldn't say Michigan State and LSU with Dinardo's players had talent advantages. He when 12-0 in 2008 with only 1 of "his" classes of talent at Alabama too.

In reality, Tuberville was still out recruited by Alabama even in the stretch if you take away players that never got on campus. Alabama lacked a coach worth a shite during the 2000s, not talent. Look at what Saban did in 2008 much like what Malzahn was able to do in 2013 with Auburn, the talent was there, he added a few pieces and got them working together. both were great coaching jobs during the year.

I agree with you that talent doesn't win alone but if you have a better raw player at every single spot on the field then the odds are in your favor.

I would go as far as to say that Saban should go down as the greatest coach to walk the field at this point. What he has done at the college level is nothing short of amazing in the era of limited scholarships. I wouldn't put him in the top 5 to 10 in coaches in X's and O's and gameday coaching though. I hate Saban because I see no way to convince a kid to come sit behind 3 or 4 players for two years when he could start at 90% of other places without cheating. I know that there is no proof and all, but I just don't see how you recruit on this level for this long with depth like they have and not cheat like hell. That isn't being butthurt about anything, that is just being realistic.

Look; Saban's best quality is his ability to instill discipline into his "star" players. Recruiting alone doesn't mean shite. What makes Saban great is his ability to take those top recruits and make them hungry and disciplined...that is why he has so few "busts", because he is great at getting his players to compete and work. Any retard can recruit; but recruiting and getting those kids to actually produce on the field are two different things entirely. Chizik couldn't do this, which is why so many of our "top rated" recruits under him either flopped completely or were hilariously average.

So who does it look like we are closing with? and how many guys can we sign this cycle?

We have 20 as of now. How many EE's do we have besides Jovon, Jason Smith, and Swain?

Also, it appears Kerryon is solid and will just take a courtesy to Bama because he originally said he would, but is there a chance we could lose him?

Yes but unlikely. Their chances a but died when Kenyan Drake got injured. Drake would have played the role they want KJ to play and he was darn good at it

Hmmm. Well he did well against florida and earlier in his career. We can sell him on playing sooner though... Cant we? We run 2 backs. They run single set. They just give more carries to multiple backs.

It looks like Kerryon is more in love with Auburn as a school from what I can tell

They never really got to use him and they weren't able to really showcase that position. I wouldn't be too worried about KJ. He isn't at a particularly pro Bama school, we recruit Madison Academy well and he didn't grow up a Bama fan

If we did they didn't make it to the NFL. Jordan Matthews was their first player to make it last year.
