If MS St pulled his offer he probably isn't good enough for AU

Or he probably did something bad enough that we shouldn'twant him

We are teetering on the brink right now as a program. That's not chicken little, that's the truth. Hopefully Gus can succeed where Gene failed before it's too late.

We are 7-3 with our best OL, WR, and DL hurt. We have probably the best backup QB in the country that will take over next season. We are stacked with OL and RBs. We have plenty of young talent at DE and LB for the next few years. We are far from on the brink.

We lost a hearbreaker to Aggies and fell apart against UGA. We are still 2-2 against top 12 teams on the road. Read that again. Thats 4 road games against top 12 talent and we still have one left.

It sucks losing Bridges, it also sucks we fell apart here at the end of that brutal stretch but give me a break. AU's future has never looked brighter. People need to step away and regroup. 8-4 would be a disappointment but let's not act like it's unreasonable for a team playing the toughest division of the toughest conference to come up on the short end of things

I will wait and hear from the rest of you after we get throttled in the Iron Bowl.

This is Gus's first shot at adversity as a head coach. let's see how he handles it and comes back from arse whoopins.

We are likely to finish 8-4 in a season we expected to compete for a national title. Worse is signs are there we have mailed it in again, for the 3rd time in 4 seasons.

With potentially no one to throw the ball to.

This is true.

It looked much brighter a couple of months ago.

The division isn't going to get any easier and UGA is only getting better. Our rivals are crushing us on the recruiting trail.

Our defense is playing at a historically bad level.

If a team with this much talent, experience, and senior leadership can only get us 8-4 what are the "average" seasons going to look like?

Four of our best players have missed important games this year. No team could take that hit. We will have more talent on D next year since the early 00's. If Duke comes back, the O has the potential to be the most talented in AU history. Put your pipe down, and calm the frick down.

Yes it is. At DE, we have Lawson, Thornton and Kennion who all should be great pass rushers. Thornton and Kennion both fit the Dion Jordan mold of super fast, lanky speed rushers who at the CFB level are solid against the run. For SDE, we have Lambert and Elijah Daniel who both have high ceilings and are solid.

For LB, Frost and McKinzy should be back. Tre Williams, from his play this year, looks like he is only being held back from a playbook standpoint. Add in guys like Anthony Swain who is a very solid rotation LB and recruits we are bringing in and we are fine

Look at successful teams. 9/10 have solid OL and DL (which describes all of AU's solid teams in my lifetime). This year we had significant injuries on both sides of the ball and started Chad Slade on OL.

Next year, if Dampeer can adequately replace Reece, we should be head and shoulders better across the OL. The DL starting lineup will be a huge improvement. Only question mark is DT rotation guys

Kennion look solid for a severely undersized FR this year. He got injured though which is why he disappeared early. Thorton is a very good player though just undersized as well.

Right now a strong gust of wind would topple those two. With some of Mike's Secret stuff (PEDs) and a solid S&C they should be very solid

Same can be said for every freshman ever... true, we don't know if they're worth a shite until we see that they're worth a shite.

Agree. But having Carl in the line is better than what we have this year. That is why I would rather take a pounding in the IB, and have him 100% for next season.

we need to worry about getting someone who can punt further than 20 yards.

Punting is a huge issue.

Kennion looked good for a FR before injury. If he adds weight and keeps explosiveness he should be more than solid.

Lambert has been good for us and Daniel solid in playing time.

Slade has not been an issue this year. Mr NFL Draft Shon Coleman and the revolving door at RG are the issues.

Agreed. Coleman has struggled mightily in pass blocking. We have missed the Kozan/Dismukes combo inside that opened holes up the middle last year.

Basically it comes down to us never really syncing up this season. When you don't ever click on all cylinders and play the schedule we do, this happens. We still have a shot at finishing 10-3 which is pretty damn good. I'm not ready to give up on the Iron Bowl yet
