Agreed. 260 is about the sweet spot. He'll lose some weight during the season, so that is about perfect where he would need to be.

...and on the other side of the spectrum, Cim is looking skinnier than Carmelo Anthony—quite the transformation,

I wouldn't expect too much improvement from Reed this year. He spent a month in jail and hasn't reported back to AU yet unless I missed it? I was questioning if he'd even return, but BP announced last week that he was done adding to the roster so that tells me Reed is coming back. Maybe he's been working on his on but it sure would of been nice to have him here this summer training with Bowers, Canty, ect..

He is an ultra athletic 7'2 center on a team who starts a 6'5 guy at center. He was coming back unless something serious happened.

He is a development player for sure though and honestly a RS year probably would be in both AU and Reed's best interest. I just don't see it happening given our needs and I imagine his lack of interest.

You did. He was at and played in the Birmingham tourney a week ago with the rest of the team.

You can tell he has added weight.

He has so much potential. He could be a dominant big man in the league if he just learns how to rim protect and be a role player on offense.

His form on his shot isn't atrocious like Bowers. Hopefully Person can work some magic and make Reed the "Pistolman" dangerous, but not quite as dangerous

I think it's fair to say you miss a lot. Including this

I agree. He was just too weak to make an impact last year. With the added weight he should be able to provide some solid defense and rebounding. Offensively he is still a work in progress but he reportedly has made some strides with his 5-10 ft face up jumper. They are still working on him being more aggressive around the rim and catching the ball cleanly.

Coordination is something you either have or don't have. They can throw him 1000 balls but if he wasn't born with hand eye coordination then it won't do any good.

Thankfully you can be a rim protector at that height without needing too much coordination. Anything he gives us on offense is just a bonus.

That's not entirely true. Look at the progress that Chubb made throughout his time at Auburn. Ok maybe that isn't the best of examples.

Eh.... I agree that there is a 'talent' aspect to neural control of movement, I won't ever have the catching ability of Duke for example, but you can improve significantly. So someone as dopey as Reed may need 10,000 balls thrown his way #10000BallRule #Gladwell

He needs to work on rebounding + positioning. I really am looking more for his impact in 2016-2017. I see him be a 10ppg 8rpg guy ~4bpg.

Scary to think that I would be super stoked if Chubb had an extra year of eligiblity

Chubb was so annoying. He just DGAF. I doubt he had NBA potential no matter how much he worked, but the kid easily could have been a legit CBB 5 and real contributor

We should hire an off the field assistant whose sole job is to walk around throwing tennis balls for him to catch all day. Eventually upgrade to basketballs

His hand eye coordination would drastically improve.

We have an open scholarship and we were in his final 3. I have no idea if we will be considered this time around but I'd personally love to have him.

@JonRothstein: Austin Nichols' release will include anyone on Memphis' schedule in 15-16 and 16-17, any AAC school, and Tennessee, source told

I would kill to have him. He was a recruit during the Barbee era right?

Hopefully, Bruce Pearl still has some connections/appeal with Nichols being from TN

Hopefully Ryan Miller isn't in his ear. I would be surprised if we got him. He can play almost anywhere
