Well, we've landed pretty much every recruit that's visited so far right?

Who's next? Bacon?

I'm assuming at some point they'll announce Delph and Thompson are gone for good. Anyone know why their taking the leave of absence approach?

All but Evans. Word from BMatt is we have a lot of work to do on him.

I don't know. I don't have an ITAT account so I don't have the benefit of Mark Murphy's quality work, AUR's basketball recruiting coverage is pretty bad, and AUC's coverage on that is non existent til Hoke's non compete clause is over.

With all that said Bacon is a Under Armour kid so you would think we are squarely in the mix.

Per Evan Daniels of Scout.com. We are trying to get him to OV but it's going to take a lot to pull him away from FSU.

He has scheduled visits to FSU and UT and has said a couple of times he would visit Georgetown and USC so it looks like we will be fighting to get his 5th visit with the rest of his top 10.

As did the 5* ATL kid, Beasley. Two 5* in 24 hrs for them. I didn't use to dislike FSU that much, but Jabo has made it easier.

Anything new on the recruiting front? Sucks that Bacon is gone. Any other 5*'s were after with a chance?

Basketball recruiting coverage from the AU pay sites sucks for the most part. Also we have filled all the spots for the 2015 class for now. Expect 1 or 2 more added down the line though.

Focusing on 2016 and 17 now while we wait to see how grades and suspensions turn out. I expect us to add one more to this class in the late period most likely from the JC ranks. I don't have any names but hearing a versatile 4 in the Kenny Gabriel/Quan Prowell mold is what we are looking for if we have the room.

Looks like my previous post was wrong. Pearl has an in home visit set up with Jacob Evans today.

Any chance bball switches to Nike? Anyone know the contract stipulations with UA? I would venture to guess UA won't let a Pearl coached team go lightly.

No. Under Armour is stepping up and unlike other UA schools Bruce is able to get the better UA AAU players to come to the same school as evidenced by our top 5 2015 recruiting class.

There aren't any. JJ does not understand the effects apparel companies have on basketball recruiting for most schools and coaches. It does not matter now though since UA is making a basketball push and as stated above, Bruce being able to get the better UA kids to go to the same school.

I didn't mean it as "Bruce won't be able to recruit", I was just sitting here daydreaming if AU was Nike what he'd be able to do.

We wouldn't get such a serious advantage that it matters. Him being the best UA coach gives him a better in with UA players than just being another Nike coach going after the Nike players

I'd say Jay Jacobs does know but he also knows that the bottom line matters just as much as what hinders our ability to recruit. Above all else we are an Under Armour school because of football and because the deal they give us is more lucrative than any deal Nike would think about giving us. It's so much deeper than "JJ doesn't understand the effects apparel companies have".. yes he does and that's why we are Under Armour. If he didn't understand then we would take far less money to be just another Nike school and hold way less apparel money than schools like Alabama, UGA, and LSU which have states names tied to their school.

The whole essence of the apparel deals is not to bring recruits to schools. That actually has very little to do with who we sign as our apparel merchandiser and should have very little to do with it.
