My favorite ATL sports team was the Thrashers.

And I wish they were still playing in Atlanta.

They had good fan support. I attended a dozen games or so. Place was packed.

So lame they moved that team.

Lame! Yes. That's exactly what it is. fricking lame that they took the Thrashers away from ATL.

It was like watching the movie major league, except hockey. I had season tickets for many years. I can only wish we had ownership like Nashville or Tampa.

Such a badass name (even though it’s a tiny brown bird). Loved the jerseys too.

Awesome.

I saw many a knights game.

Atlanta didn't deserve to lose two NHL teams, that is for sure.

Screwed by an economy the first time and screwed by the most disfunctional ownership in sports (and a shady nhl commissioner) the second time.

Charlie Brown luck for us fans.

I'd like to watch some ATL Hawks wins in the Playoffs.

I'd like to see the GA Bulldogs win the next game.

Best thing about the knights (besides the fights) was watching UGA play afterward.

Used to go to Thrasher games when we lived in Atlanta for a while. Those were a lot of fun.

The Knights were pretty cool too for what they did.

Loved going to see the Thrashers. Remember Braveheart? Sat behind him one game, most diehard fan I've ever met. I thought the sky was the limit with Kovalchuk and Heatley. And then disaster ...

Played a lot of golf in the mid to late 90s with Tim Ecclestone and Willi Plett.

I have two hockey sweaters in my closet. A Sidney Crosby Pittsburgh Penguins sweater(Go Pens), and a Thrashers sweater.

Atlanta will get another franchise, but not till that boob Betteman is gone.

the one year the Thrashers made the playoffs, they were offering free tickets by simply signing up on their website. You'd get 2 tickets...seats assigned the day of at the ticket window...per unique email address. Being in college, and with gmail in it's early stages, my gf (now wife) and I probably each had 4-5 different emails addresses (hotmail, gmail, college, AOL, yahoo) so we saw 8-10 games for free. We had tickets to the last regular season game of the year and our seats (which were typically upper deck) were 3 rows from the glass in one of the corners. Such a fun year and we had contemplated going in on some cheap season tickets the following year but those plans fell through. Simply too much money for broke college kids.

Every few months I get irrationally angry that I was deprived of the Thrashers in my adult years.

Games were fun as shite as a kid, but of course they flew the coop as soon as I reached a proper age to enjoy the NHL scene.

I've tried to give a shite about the NHL teams around us, but it's hard when you can't just pull up on a game randomly
