I don't care about losing a pre-season game BUT I don't get the strategy. Did Ridder even play 1 down in pre-season? I know Bijon played a little but what in the sam frick was a strategy of "don't start or play the starters"?
It appears a lot of teams went with that strategy. So can we just stop pre-season by God?
They don't do it in CFB so if "amateurs" don't need it, why do "pros"?

Yeah I didn't get the need to play that game at all unless Smith just wanted to make a final decision on some folks based on their play vs a teams first stringers.

Fair enough but at least when there was the 4 game pre-season seasons, they would at least play the starters some.

Well, they play an average to below-average Carolina with a rookie QB at home for week 1.
If they look like garbage then, it'll probaby be a 4-6 win season.

I might just be getting older but the whole NFL looks crappy. Aaron Rodgers is long the in the tooth, no more Brees, Brady, Big Ben, Matt Ryan, Philip Rivers, etc. That whole era of gun slingers is gone.

I feel like the NFL RB must arise from the dead cause it seems like NFL QBs right now are meh, at best.

He played in game 2. Had a nice drive. Pitts had a nice 1 handed grab. London had a few catches. They looked good
