Reports are that Dallas was about to pick Takk, so can't be mad at TD for trading up to get the guy Quinn wanted.
I love the passion. Drops a F-bomb and two Goddamn's, then shouted "GONNA GET TO THE QUARTERBACK!" a couple times on national TV.
ROFL
Dude is already ready to run through a brick wall for a sack. And he really loved his grandma. How can you not like this kid?
Takk McKinley Highlights
So here's a bit on him...
In the last two seasons, starting in 24 games, he played 95% of every defensive snap, and only had TWO missed tackles total. 80 solo tackles, 99 total tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, 10 pass breakups, and 5 forced fumbles.
In 2016, Takk's 10 sacks, 11 QB hits, and 37 QB hurries, for a total of 58 pressures, led all of college football in pressures.
He doesn't have any finesse or a spin move or really any pass rushing moves at all. What he does have is a ridiculously fast first step, 35" arms that he swats around, and he just sheds blocks like they're nothing, and can either bullrush an OL or simply beats them around the edge with crazy speed.
It's going to be fun watching these two guys rush the passer.

If we get a quality player today at guard, I am OK. I don't like giving up the 3 in a very deep draft but Quinn really wanted this guy. There is a video out there of Quinn after talking to him on the phone post the pick and he is really pumped. The LB coach also had him for a year at UCLA so they knew what they were getting into.
If we get 2 starters out of this draft which I think we will, I am OK.

Absolutely awful pick. The guy has the strength of a one armed retard. No other move, but speed, and he isnt even that good at that. Got absolutely stonewalled in the Pac 12.
I'm going to trust Dan Quinn over devils1854

Thank you for your observation. Your years of NFL Executive and Coaching Level experience really bring a lot to this board. It's obvious you know more then the entire Falcons organization so what are you doing here?
Might want to find a place more suitable for your "talents".

Good stats, sounds like he has a little developing to do, but DQ and his staff should be able to coach him right up. Cant teach tenacity and attitude

quote:Was about to say same thing. Especially linking some fart suckers article from BR. After last year's draft I'll never question CDQs defensive draft picks again. He has an eye for talent on that side of the ball, more importantly the type of talent he wants to run his style of D. I'm extremely excited about the future of our D with him at the helm. Now if we can somehow pull off some Kevin Costner Draft Day shite and trade up to get Lamp without giving up a ton I'll consider this draft a W.

Would be awesome if we could get Isaiah McKenzie as a punt returner in the later rounds

Because his parents abandoned him.

I'll be stunned if we pick an offensive skill guy in this draft. We are way too loaded in the RB's and WR's.
shite, I think our number 8 TE caught a TD last year.

quote:They already said that he has a relentless motor on the field and rarely take plays off. Plus Q said he really liked his initial burst off the line. Plus dude has really long arms which can make up for his lack of ideal height (not that 6'2 is short) for DE.
If he turns half of that energy into his motor on the field he will be a monster.
After looking more into him after the pick, I'm really liking Tak. Also I'm not sure he would have been there at 31, as word around the street is that Dallas, GB, and Pitt were looking for a DE and we see that Dallas picked one right after us, and Pitt got Watt and GB traded out of their pick. It is looking like if we wanted Tak, then we did what it took to get him. Plus we won't be complaining about the 3rd round pick if he turns out to be a good player.

So these are your responses to a kid who was about as excited and happy as he's been in his entire life. A kid who fulfilled a promise he made to the biggest person in his life. He worked his arse off to get out of Oakland, to get out of the ghetto, to remove himself from a life of crime and drugs. You shite on him in his biggest moment. Yet earlier in this thread you wanted Reuben Foster. Jesus tapdancing Christ.

Our punt return game was slacking last year. Imagine if we added McKenzie, We wouldn't really have a weak points

McKenzie got broken in half in some SEC games. Not sure he would survive his first NFL hit
Posted on 4/28/17 at 1:46 pm to VADawg
Did he ever get injured though? I cant exactly remember

We signed Andre Roberts who will most likely be taking this over from what I have seen

Yep, Roberts/Fuller will probably handle all return duties.
