Full trade is Howard and the 31st pick for Marco Belinelli, Miles Plumlee, and the 41st pick

Bout damn time.

GOOD. Start trying to build something that actually makes sense together.
And stop paying $23 mil for a washed-up big man.
I'm down.

Excellent trade. Never thought we could dump that contract

Reports are we're looking for a sign and trade deal with Millsap.

even better. We need to start over

Bazemore is also being involved in trade discussions. A rebuild is needed but it's not going to be fun. I also hate giving up 31st pick and Plumlee's contract. I guess Dwight's presence in the lockerroom with a young team is just that bad.

Would a lotto pick be a possibility in a sign and trade for Paul? I'd love to get TJ Leaf at 19 and sneak in and grab a Malik Monk/Donovan Mitchell type or even double up on bigs with one of Markannen/Isaac... if it's another mid round pick, maybe Harry Giles with Leaf? Gotta build through the draft, might as well start now as this draft is pretty fricking deep and talented

The return is terrible, but worth it to rid the team of Dwight.
Terrible FA signing, set the franchise back 3 years, and Schenk needed to do this before he could go about the rest of the rebuild.

The question for me is what do you do with Dennis. He's too good at his age to trade, but the team will probably stay in playoff contention with him at point.
That's assuming the plan is to tank which it probably has to be. The Hawks will never be a big enough free agent draw to win a title that way.

They never fully tanked to build that last team

I think there's still another level to be extracted out of Dennis. He may never get there but IMO it's worth hanging on to him to see if he can.
