Cardinals get the W and advance while Braves fans send Chipper out in a parade of garbage.

Felt good, man

Meanwhile, former UGA pitcher Mitchell Boggs was on the mound for the Cardinals (according to that picture). That game was one big bag of suck.

Man I went to that game and drove straight to Columbia for the 35-7 assbeating the next day. What an awful weekend

I have never been so angry and flabbergasted at a single baseball call in my life.

Yea, same here, but then Joe Torre explained it afterwards in a condescending tone and I totally understood and was calmed down.

I still don't accept his explanation. The only thing he said correctly was that it was a judgement call which can't really be challenged.

The rule states that a fly ball that can be caught by an infielder with ordinary effort. There was nothing ordinary about the short stop running back towards the outfield, never camping under the ball, and then letting it drop. The SS was running back, stopped and then planted and moved away all in one motion. That does not indicate camping and ordinary effort.

Yea I know, I was being facetious. I wanted Fredi to plop his balls on his face.

A drunk a few rows in front of me threw his two beers. When he realized he was out of beers to throw he took off his shoes and threw them.

It took like 5 hours to get a friggin taxi after that game. Thank god I never have to go to turner field again. Funnel 25 interstate lanes into 2 points of entry. Smart.

You mean like at the intersection of the 2 busiest highways in the south 285 and 75? Building a stadium there might be a bad idea. Oh wait...

At least it's not right below the I-20/75/85 interchange and just north of the 285 interchange and friggin airport.

Yeah but at least there it was ITP.

fricking cobb crackers won't let Marta build a rail out to the stadium either because it'll bring "crime".

That stadium will be underfilled until that happens. Get over it Jim Bob, ITP folks want to go to games too.

Traffic flow is sooooo much better at the new park. And your logic makes. No sense.

Have you heard of driving or Uber? That's how the OTP folks went to games when the stadium was ITP.

There was plenty of entertainment at turner field with all the vacant parking lots and potential added excitement of muggings and gunfire. I'll miss that deeply.

You're acting like there was a Marta stop right outside of turner. You had to either ride to underground Atlanta and take a shuttle from there or head to the capital/ga state and walk a mile.

I have to take 285W on the top end to get to the stadium from Norcross. I've gone on a Tuesday night after work and on a Saturday afternoon for a Saturday night game. 285 was a clusterfrick due to regular traffic. The exit for the stadium for both games was pretty clear. This tells me that traffic was not affected by the stadium but by the general shittiness of the number of people trying to get to 75 N.

The flow to and from the parking lots at STP are night and day better than at Turner Field. With the lots being in different locations and not all bunched together, it allows for different routes leaving the park. I parked in the Red deck at the Battery for the Tuesday night game. It took me about 5 to 10 minutes to get from the top level to the exit and then it took me less than 2 minutes to get back on the interstate headed for home. For the Saturday game against the Cardinals (pretty large crowd) I had to park behind the Applebees across Cumberland blvd and I was on the interstate in less than 2 minutes.

Yea, with a fully functional 85 disbursement from the Galleria is pretty good.

By far the easiest route to take back in the day. Total trip time, like 25 minutes and you're at the park. It wasn't some hassle, it was convenient.

I think Jeff Schultz must have invaded the board. If the next post is about prospects not mattering we'll know we have our man.
