worst one I remember was in 72. by then, I was already spoiled to modern conveniences like electricity and hot water that didn't come off the fireplace and poured in a wash tub.
the 72 ice storm made us "camp out" in our house for 10 days without lights or anything warmed by something besides the fireplace.
I never got so tired of anything as much as playing Rook by candlelight for 10 days. amazing that sumptin didn't die!!

I had a few classes in that building (Old Main) back in the early 70's. The building had awful insulation and rickety old radiators heating the rooms. Makes me feel cold looking at it.

I was fortunate to get to attend a poli sci class there my first year at school. Shortly thereafter it was closed for renovations and I know it has undergone more renovations since then.
