1. He isn't a great in game coach and his players are typically scared to ad-lib beyond the game plan.

2. His minute distribution doesn't make sense early to mid season

I'd say there's a few reasons why.

A. When you bring in new players every year, it's going to take time for them to gel. You will see this in the NBA, from time to time, with free agency.

B. A lot of these kids have never been taught structured/fundamental basketball. This year is a clear indicator of that.

C. Muss values defensive execution over offense at the college level. Analytically it's the best option. If we can do such and such on defense then our odds of winning are much better. But this years team has struggled on that end, and our offense has been jekel and hyde all year.

It really comes down to selflessness and playing sound defense. Once his teams figure that out they win at the highest level.

As much as I've hated our offense in years past, those teams found a way to play together on both sides of the floor. This years team just doesn't have the size nor personality to achieve that.

I'm as annoyed about this year's team as anyone but the Muss system has more or less worked out here. This year it didn't.

Bear Bryant had back to back 6-5 seasons at Alabama before turning things around. I'm not saying Muss is a Bryant level coach but I'm not going to burn the program to the ground and start again after one lackluster season.

Agree. These guys don’t play together and it’s obvious who is out there trying, who is not, and who sometimes can have good games but can’t be counted on. Mix of that makes a team like this that can play to the level of any great team and beat them or roll over like warriors and bleed against teams like Vanderbilt in a home loss. We need to go get some men next year though. This team is full of a bunch of emotional head cases who don’t listen to their coach or execute the game plan.

I agree. Next year is a make or break year for Muss. Look, I love the guy and he's been a good coach here at Arkansas but I think he really missed out this year. The players he grabbed couldn't fit into the very good system he had in place.

D) He is still in the pro mindset that the regular season doesn't matter much so long as you do enough to make the post season where you have a chance to win what really matters.
