anyone can hand the ball off, so does it really matter? Serious question.

those 3 bcs bowls he went to before coming here....yeah, that must be the comparison.

Mitchell, hopefully. It's going to be a tough year. Our passing game will regress. Pass blocking will regress. We'll need a QB that can scramble and make things happen.

Say what you will about our OL, but they're better pass blockers than run blockers at this point. When BB takes over, they're going to become completely different animals.

did you watch this year? Not sure we picked up a blitz til the auburn game and then quit picking them up after kentucky.

I honestly think we're a lot closer than most people realize. Our oline doesn't suffer from lack of talent or size, we suffer from poor fundamentals and an overly complicated blocking system.

Our passing game will not be nearly as potent but we'll still pass for 3k or almost 3k yards depending on BM.

I'm thinking Mitchell but could be Allen or either or the true Freshmen. Haven't seen him play but something tells me Cogswell may get into the mix quick.

Too lazy to go do the research, but I'm guessing Wisc's QB's played mostly under center?

If that's true, I figure it will be whoever remembers how to take a snap under center and not fumble.

Did you? Saying they'll regress doesn't mean I'm saying they're great. i'm saying they'll get worse. Why? repitition. Pass blocking will no longer be something they do more than 50% of their snaps every game/practice. It will be 35% of what they do.

lol the've (wisconsin) given up a grand total of 19 sackes the entire year

15 if you don't count the 2 games that MM coached the o line for.

that's about a sack and a half a game.

Physicality improves blocking. We didn't have it with the old coaches but we will with CBB. Our oline is very talented but way under coached.

Actually Wisky ran the ball around 52% of the time and passed 48%. Pretty balanced. That QB that plays for the Sea Hawk's now passed for over 3,000 yds his final year.

I'm thinking Mitchell will get the 1st shot at it. If you think about what we are returning and adding to the backfield, it could be a really fun year & a shock to the rest of the SEC.

That's not even close to accurate. That might be yardage gained, but that isn't plays.

In 2012 they ran 590 times (68%) and passed 274 times (32%).

Then explain why our pass blocking was so piss poor under Nutt and Markuson?

We need to pick a fricking position and stick with it. When Petrino got here we were all excited because our OL was FINALLY going to learn how to pass block.

Now, all of a sudden, going back to a Nutt/Saban/Miles ratio of 30-35% pass and our pass blocking won't regress?

Has our run blocking regressed since Nutt left? Yes.

Has pass blocking improved? Yes.

I expect that it's entirely plausible that we'd go back to being BETTER at run blocking and WORSE at pass blocking if for no other reason than we're going to be doing much more of it.
