Or do we even have one?

What's Alabama's?

Does this look like a coach that knows what he is doing or knows the identity of his team?

Establish the run and mix in some play-action. Run the ball to shorten the game at the end of the game.

Not from the games I've watched.

I think the 2015 offense is basically what this offense is supposed to look like. That or we are more of a team that wants to run more screens and pull more guards. That is what our offensive linemen we are recruiting and what we have are better suited for. We have no road graders on this team anymore

Controlling the los, running the ball and running play action is what we like to do... Doesn't mean that we always do it well.

the last game could be defined as "a throw and a prayer"

Run up the middle for no game. Throw ball into double coverage, then quarterback sack.
Rinse, wash, repeat.
Rinse, wash, repeat.

Talk it up about "Big Boy Football", kicking arse if you don't have a fullback, and our Oline rides first class.
Then take the field and get your shite pushed in by the likes of...well...everyone you play.
Then talk about how we're going to finish strong...and don't finish at all.
Talk up improving protection for a QB named Allen. Then watch him get beat like a red headed stepchild by...well...everyone you play.

To have the identity that they want to have, you have to have a solid OL. We don't. So, we don't really have one at the moment.

We are 9th in the conference in rushing yards right now I think, but we had the early bye week. Otherwise we are on pace to be around 6th or so.
We don't have road graders on the line but we can run the ball, and now that we've added big hoss to our short yardage packages we might even be able to pick up those 3rd and 1's that have fricked us over the last 4 years. Since we are spreading the carries among a small horde of people no one is really putting up monster numbers.
What is killing us is that we are dead last in passing in the SEC. Again, partly because that is with the early bye week. That having been we are on pace for around 10th or 11th in the conference in passing.
Which is a major problem when Bert's offense is built around having a balanced attack. We are going to have to pick up the pace at throwing the ball or just commit to going run heavy and hoping to beat teams to death.

The offensive identity is there, run first, play action. The problem is the big plays on defense and the special teams touchdown yesterday. Even with all those blunders Arkansas could have still won.

Our offense is balanced.
Both the running game and the passing game are mediocre at best. Big plays here and there, but overall..bleh.
Then..there's special teams. I suspect analysis would show our special teams play costs us 14 points per game average. Perhaps more against equally matched foes.
That includes Kickoffs, KO returns, Punts, Punt returns, FG for and against. There's simply no emphasis on this and the personnel decisions are baffling.
