What Brett said word for word I disagree with BB here. There is a play clock for a reason. How the offensive team chooses to use the play clock is and SHOULD be entirely up to them. Wanting 10 seconds to sub is basically saying we can't stop it with a scheme so let's make the rules different so we have a chance. He needs to put on his big boy pants and figure out how to outscheme it.....

Every advantage in the game is geared towards the offense right now.

An offense that may be HUNH can run play after play, then stall and use all of the play clock before snapping the ball. All the while, the defense had time to send in subs, but had no idea the time would be there if the offense doesn't sub.

Over the years the sprea HUNH offense has caused false start penalties to be more loosely called.

10 years ago, if a linemen had his hand on the ground, he couldn't move. Now, he can move all he wants, point across the line of scrimmage, raise up quickly to look at the sideline for a play, etc. QBs used to also be called for false starts. Now, a QB in the shotgun can run towards the los, run down the offensive line changing plays, etc.

The defense is at a terrible disadvantage right now in football. Corners are being asked to run full speed downfield a lot. A WR can just exit the field after a long pass route, but that corner has to stay in.

If it's 3rd and 15 and I'm running a nickel defense and the offense converts, as a coach, I'm forced to keep personnel in that I had the play prior. If it's 4th and short and we have a goal line defense in the game, we are forced to keep that personnel on the field.

How is it fair?

Injury excuse or not, changes need to be made to even the playing field.

I'll give you that he is a Champion for Player Saftey. Just not buying that is the primary motive...I ain't mad at him though.

It could be a great recruiting tactic knowing that he can go in a home and shows that he fights for player saftey. A lot of parents with half a brain will listen and respect Bert.

It might not be his primary motive... but we also know that his opponents don't give a shite.

If Barack Obama, Ted Cruz and Gus Malzahn came to my house and presented ideas... I'd have to listen to Obama and Cruz first.. because they're less self-interested and more honest than Malzahn.

What is interesting is how Auburn fans not only think Gus' playbook is expansive, but how he is also a master at the Xs and Os of the game.

They are fighting tooth and nail on tRant over this because it would "take away Gus' advantage".

Seems like a contradiction, to me.

The more you look at his career trajectory the more you have to wonder if his head coaches all thought Gus was a slimy shite.

So did Tressel.

Tressel was known to pull shady shite all during his career, he was sly enough to evade the NCAA for decades, when they finally found "something" they could pin on him they dropped the hammer.

Brett ruffles more feathers than a slaughter line worker at a Tyson chicken plant. I like it.
