Two-time Harvard graduate who isn't a limousine liberal, interesting..

Where are you moving to CtotheVrzbck? A liberal state driving away businesses or a republican state stuck in 1958 social policies?

This.

The first three amendments had the most Orwellian names ever. The state legislature won big time on these.

Cotton is a lap dog for whom? The guy is a total stud. Selfless, patriot from DARDENELLE who made it Harvard Law but quit before graduating to serve in the Army, but returned to finish. Dad is a Vietnam vet. Humble. Smart. Young and energetic family man.. WTF?? Give him a chance. You don't know shite about him and you know it.

Last night was a historical positive step for this country. The arse kicking that took place nation-wide screams folks are sick and tired of these BS liberal policies. When the GOP wins governorships in MA, IL, MD, MN and AR - traditionally very left-leaning states - that should tell you something. This country hates Obama and the cowards that supported him that now are trying to distance themselves.

Once some of you puppies get out of college and/or start making some real money you'll be a lot more concerned about where your tax dollars go and how they're spent.

Arkansas = Texas Doesn't matter outside of Austin and Dallas. People vote red b/c that's the Texas thing to do. Outside of McAllen and the surrounding south texas border towns that no one claims as really a part of Texas, anyway.

As expected, outside of south & far west Texas (the part of Texas that no one remembers IS a part of the state) tis a sea of red (exception Dallas & Travis Counties).

This morning on the radio show I listen to the "too soon" joke was about Abbott standing up for Texans. I tried really hard not laugh.

Of course, I did.

You're pretty naive if you think it matters whether Democrats or Republicans are in charge. Everyone hated Bush in 2008, now everyone hates Obama. It has nothing to do with "BS liberal policies."

Cotton's entire campaign was "Mark Pryor is white Obama" and people bought it. Don't kid yourself, this state is full of under educated morons that would have elected a rake with a wig on it.

Democrat or Republican, it doesn’t matter. Politicians no longer care what’s best for the people. We live in a “me” society with politics being no different, if not worse. Once elected, they get as much as they can get for themselves before their time is up. They vote on the issues from where the most money comes from which has caused an ever increasing gap between the rich and poor resulting in the decimation of the middle class.

I, for one, would cheerfully vote for a rake with a wig on it. Both the rake and the wig are good for something after all.

Being an Arkansas fan lately is tough and being an Arkansas fan in a dry county sandwiched by two dry counties has to be hell on earth. If local communities were a person, I'd run a shopping cart into the back of their legs because I'm mad as hell.

Someone tell me how issue 3 passed and why they think it's a good idea? The last thing we need is more career politicians.

Also to see issue 5 pass in a landslide is dumbfounding. Where do people think this money is coming from?? Basically everyone not making minimum wage just donated a portion of their salary to cover the cost, in one way or another.

I like this theory.

Inverted totalitatiansim

"Inverted totalitarianism is a term coined by political philosopher Sheldon Wolin in 2003 to describe the emerging form of government of the United States. Wolin believes that the United States is increasingly turning into an illiberal democracy, and uses the term "inverted totalitarianism" to illustrate similarities and differences between the United States governmental system and totalitarian regimes such as Nazi Germany and the Stalinist Soviet Union.[1][2][3][4] In Days of Destruction, Days of Revolt by Chris Hedges and Joe Sacco, inverted totalitarianism is described as a system where corporations have corrupted and subverted democracy and where economics trumps politics.[5] In inverted totalitarianism, every natural resource and every living being is commodified and exploited to collapse as the citizenry are lulled and manipulated into surrendering their liberties and their participation in government through excess consumerism and sensationalism."

Issue 3 was the biggest piece of shite item on the ballot. They highlighted the part about not accepting gifts and waiting 2 years to register as a lobbyist and kind of hush hushed the term extension through.

Damn, that would suck.

We have been dry for 78 years and just voted wet.

ETA: We weren't sammiched though. We could go to a restaurant and get liquor or down the road to the county line.

I have to drive 15 minutes to Rye Hill, but still I don't like having local shitheads voting on where I can purchase a completely legal product.

Agreed and your county doesn't get the money. People from Saline County would just give Pulaski or Garland the money from the sales bc they drank regardless. I guess it made no sense to me that you could drive down the road and get it or drink a beer at a restaurant but not buy it in the stores.

When the statewide one didn't pass, I thought we didn't have a shot but found out this morning it was voted in here.

If your only 15 min from Rye Hill you must live in a wet county already...just that all the Baptist churches in your area probably own the liquor licenses.

So happy that there are liquor stores in every strip center 5 minutes or less away, beer and wine in the million cvs and Walgreens and no "Sunday beer runs " here.

When I lived in Lonoke county before moving to LR, driving all the way to Jacksonville was a pain. No clue if Lonoke is still dry. That was 20 years ago.
