He missed 4 shots within 1 foot of the bucket last night on one trip.
That was hard to watch. Anderson gave him every opportunity to get in a groove though, he played 23 minutes and scored 2 points. When we get that kind of production from our leading scorer, we could lose to a lot of bad teams.
He did the same thing in Little Rock too, everyone kept saying Qualls needs to wake up and he finally did midway through the second half. He never woke up last night. Every time I thought he was about to score he would turn it over or miss an easy shot.

i wore all black today in honor of our fallen dreams.
maybe we need to do a night at bwa with no fans allowed? wean them from home crowd. i have no idea really, we should have been able to play somewhat badly last night and still won simply by being the better team and wearing them down but instead we get blown out.

Playing some of those cupcakes on the road is too logical for any athletic dept to do. They have to learn how to get over that hump by doing it.
Great idea kudos.

MA was off the bench plenty tonight. I stand by my notion that it's not coaching. Anderson is a good coach.
It's mental toughness.
Part of coaching is instilling that mental toughness in your team.

It comes down to this..... teams that consistently win on the road are mentally tough (I will not deny that)
BUT.... teams that win on the road have steady guard play and a point guard that can calm the team and refocus them in crucial situations.
We don't have that guy right now. I think Madden has come a long way but he still isn't a true PG. Several times last night he over penetrates and makes a bad decision. I loved his effort but his decision making was very suspect. It's not all on him though, our Bigs didn't play with much bounce last night, thought they were flat footed and a step slow all night.
Coty Clarke's body language absolutely SUCKED last night....don't know what was wrong with him but we have too much depth for him to be sulking on the court as long as he did. Pull his butt and get someone else a shot.
Just my opinion but it was a mix of poise (or lack of it) and coaching. I love MA but it's time for this crap to change......

I agree, Clarke wasn't ready last night. Right at the beginning on our first two possessions of the game he missed an easy layup and turned it over.

Madden was our best player, again.
Harris had a pretty good game too, and Portis did well at one end but not the other.
Bell was meh like he has been for weeks. Kikko was irrelevant, Gulley hit a big 3 early and then nothing, Qualls nothing, Scott and Wade LOL, so much for guard play.
The realization is that we have shite at guard, Wade and Scott are just not going to contribute/help this team much at all this year and I love Kikko but he's a former walk on for a reason. Bell is still extremely inconsistent which helps us zero on the road.
If Qualls and Madden don't ball out then we're not winning many road games, I don't think any of those other guys can step up but maybe Bell at some point.

Yeah Bell has to make the most of his time on the floor, he's in there to shoot threes and he was 1 for 5 with an embarrassing block right before half.

For me, the highlight last night was Qualls's joker clap. Awesome.
Bwahahahahaha!
