I could write for hours (minutes, actually) on this subject but I'll make it quick.

Part of me believes that if we had avoided the injuries that we would be sitting at no worse that 8-1 today. There's another part of me that wonders if this team would have ever gelled like they have if the injuries didn't happen.

I know that pondering on what might have been does nothing for us now, but still want to know what your thoughts are?

I think that we have taken another huge step forward in rebuilding the program this year. This is a big turnaround from where I thought we were trending at the end of September.

I think we would undoubtedly have a much better record if we still had JWill and Hatcher. JWill was the leader of the team, and Hatcher and BA were on the same page immediately in game 1. It took some time for Drew Morgan to step up.

Good post. I also think the adversity helped this team mature quickly. Looking forward to see how they respond Saturday after another emotional win!

I think we would have lost to Tech regardless of injuries. Having Hatcher and JWill wouldn't have fixed that abortion of a defensive showing that week. But I think we would have 2 losses max and we'd be riding Bert's huge ballsack even more than we are now.

We absolutely do not lose to Toledo or Texas Tech with JWill playing.

Texas A&M we probably put it away in the 4th too.

We likely have a running game at Alabama too.

I just can't imagine us having 4 loses or even 1 w/o all those injuries.

However, our OLine hasn't had any major injuries, it's just built without a full compliment of players and I'm starting to worry about Wallace not being able to beat out Skipper. Skip's been a liability he needs to get leaner and more mobile again.

also anyone notice the gut on Austin Beck? WTF has he been doing here for 5 years? and Brooks Ellis has a double chin now, BodybyHerb is a myth.

Like most things in life, the answer lies somewhere in between. I could definitely see us beating A&M and certainly Toledo with JWill and his leadership, but even that is hard to quantify with how well RWIII performed in his absence. The WR corps have almost improved under their circumstances, not sure how much injuries there have affected the outcomes. For all we know we could be sitting in the same spot, or maybe JWill runs crazy on Bama and we could be 9-0. It's hard to think about what could have been.

I'm really trying not to view it as "what could have been". The way I see it, A&M and Tennessee were toss-ups preseason. We split them. Toledo and Tech were being written off as sure wins, but I had Auburn and Ole Miss as sure losses. Auburn was supposed to be a title contender. So, the losses have come in a weird order, but we're on pace for the 7–5/8–4 I thought we'd be preseason.
