Think he has only been admitted to UA and SMU as of now.

correct, looks like he only applied.

Just found the article that i was trying to recall.

quote:

According to multiple sources, UNC could land former Texas offensive lineman Jake Raulerson. The 6-4, 295-pound lineman who can play inside or outside has graduated from Texas and holds two years of college eligibility.

"North Carolina is in the driver's seat, according to the dad," Jeff Howe of Horns247 told CarolinaBlue.

Raulerson has applied to the Carolina's Sports Administration graduate program and UNC is the top choice, a source told CarolinaBlue on Thursday.

The former 247Sports Composite four-star prospect decided to leave Texas after graduating in May of 2016. After the option to transfer to UCLA fell through, North Carolina, SMU, and Michigan have become potential landing spots. He has been accepted to SMU's MBA program.

Raulerson took an official visit to UNC last week.

Raulerson spent three seasons at Texas and graduated with a business degree. He enrolled early, redshirted and played two years for the Longhorns both as a center (starting four games as a redshirt freshman) and a right tackle.

If Raulerson is accepted to UNC and he decides to commit, he will be able to play immediately for North Carolina. The Tar Heels are looking to add depth to their offensive line group. Senior Will Dancy decided to transfer after graduating from UNC.

Supposedly his visit went very well. Sounds like we have a good chance.

Of course, since I said that we now have no chance...

Would be big IMO. Raulerson at Center would let Ragnow stay at guard. That really strengthens us up front. Raulerson, Ragnow, Skipper, Wallace, and then you've got some talented guys battling for that fifth spot.

Big thing with Raulerson, is he has two years left.

Been pretty quiet since...it was reported that the Dad traveled out of the country or something like that and no decision would be made until he was accepted into the program...

I didn't know much about the dude, but glad to have him. What do people think his contribution may be this season? I know he wasn't getting a lot of PT for Texas...

I would imagine he's going to be the starting center

Sounded like he was going to do the same for Texas. Or he was competing for it at least. He just didn't get along with the OL coach. That coach is gone but Raulerson wanted out regardless.

This would be my guess as well. It would be huge if we could keep Ragnow at RG and not have to switch him up again.

Man that is great news. Four star Army AA coming out of HS.

There will be a learning curve but hopefully he can come in like Tretola did and contribute by SEC play

If this keeps us from moving Ragnow over, that has to help.
