And OM shouldnt have had 1 second on the clock either.

Works both ways.

Exactly. I DGAF if the call was right or wrong honestly. We've gotten fricked enough times by SEC refs that have cost is games. It's about time one broke our way. I'm not going to feel bad about it at all.

The clock stopped before he went out of bounds.

It would have been zero had it been at the whistle.

Then we could get a repeat of put a second back up so the higher ranked team can win the game like Texas/Nebraska a couple years ago.

Well the refs ruled it a backwards pass, so it was actually all legal. Any backwards pass is a fumble, be it the QB throwing it back to a RB/WR type of play, or anything else.

It was clearly a backwards hail mary that was answered.

Its a shame the OM alum couldn't actually do a little fact checking before rushing out his emotions based article. Although it's probably even more embarrassing that multiple news outlets ran with his story without checking it either.

@McMurphyESPN: I checked w/@CFBRulesExpert Dave Cutaia & he said Arkansas play was not a fumble & was a legal play @FootballScoop

It isn't, those are two different things, just like a kick returner muffing isn't a fumble.

A ball hitting the ground isn't always a fumble.

Who cares I'll take it

he even says...

There is some grey area about whether the ball becomes a fumble or a “backwards pass” once it hit the ground;

he dumb

not to mention it wasn't a fumble, it was an intentional backwards lateral

In what scenario is a backwards pass not a fumble? Why are people trying to argue the difference? Both hit the ground, both are recoverable by either team, it's the same thing.

He was trying to argue it was an intentional fumble, which is retarded, he clearly threw it backwards like a hail mary, how you throw a ball is irrelevant, a throw is a throw. And that's what the refs called on the field, so idk if he didn't know that or what.

When it's not recovered by the other team. It's just a live ball until that point.

Right, and a fumble is a live ball recoverable by either team. It's pretty much the same thing derived from different terms. A backwards pass in a fumble in the sense that it is a live ball recoverable by either team.

An intentional fumble is what OM fans are trying to claim, which is different from a regular fumble as it would be blown dead at the spot. This was ruled a backwards pass on the field by the officials, so OM fans have no merit to their claims.
