quote:I said it all year. Our defense kept us in games. Our offense kept us from winning them.
Our offense, statistically speaking, was actually worse in conference play this year than last year. If not for our huge turnaround on defense, people would most likely be calling for Chaney and Bielema's heads.

I get what your saying rev. But I trust Bert with assistants, he's given me no reason not to. If Bert lets Chaney leave without putting up much of a fight, I'll trust his reasoning and I'll be excited to see who he brings in to improve on what Chaney did.
yeah... just hope we are able to keep Hill, dude is a game changer period. As well as a few others, Nobody needs to forget Jojo...(injury bug this season) I do believe our O could improve drastically regardless of OC, we shall see I suppose. WPS!

Baz says Chaney and Pitman
I wonder if Baz realized Merrick was announcing today before spouting this shite off?

If he is a game changer, he will change games no matter where he goes.
He shouldn't have to go somewhere where he is targeted 10+ times a game to change a game.
Julio Jones did just fine in Bama's run first offense, didn't hurt his draft stock one bit.
Same is true for the LSU receivers who are thrown to a couple times a game.

Who should we attribute BA's improvement too?
Well, a healthy shoulder was a big part of it...

I think even if we lose Chaney, hill should be able to see bert is committed to throwing the ball around as seen by even bringing in Chaney. And should feel confident even without Chaney bert will want us to be balanced running and throwing.
Now if he's looking for an air raid offense that throws the ball more then he's been looking at and been high on the wrong schools this whole time.

Absolute truth. If not for the incredible defense this year, I don't know if we'd have beaten LSU or OM. Very telling - hired a new DC & the defense made an astonishing turnaround; have the biggest O-line in football & some of the best RBs with Chaney running the offense, & it isn't very good at all - no reason for that to happen unless the OC isn't calling the plays that the offense is designed to run, per Bielema's vision. ... It was very evident when sec play started what the problem is with the offense. Period. I don't believe CBB & Chaney share the same philosophy regarding this offense at all, and it is glaringly obvious Chaney's way does not work at Arkansas - it hasn't for 2 consecutive seasons now. I just don't understand that if BB is wanting Chaney to leave, which is what it looks like, why doesn't he just terminate him? I understand Chaney would have to be paid per his contract, but sometimes, when the situation warrants, you just have to bite the bullet & do it for the good of the program. ... If Chaney stays, it will be more of the same with the exact results since he's proven he's not interested in changing his game plan, literally. And honestly, it baffles my mind that Bielema is allowing him to continue to do this. If Chaney has to stay for another season, God forbid, he should be put on an extremely short leash regarding play calling, particularly in the second half.

Just gut feeling but I bet Lunney gets some consideration as OC ....has called plays before and no need to learn a new system.

The thread about it on their scout forum is hilarious
First Arkansas fans are mad that Chaney runs it too much, then it's them being in a bidding war with us

I'll put Chaney on my back and carry his fat arse all the way to Pitt. I'll even give him money for snacks as he waits for the AD to come get him.
