There wasn't but 2 QBs on campus when Bert got here, one transferred out as he was at best a WR.

Derby was brought in as an Athlete, no choice but to back up BA his first year because no other QBs were available.

Was #2 before transferring for PT.

Carson Proctor ????

Who cares about walk-ons when bitching about QBs on campus???

You bring in a QB every year because you are going to lose a QB almost every year as they leave in search of playing time, no different than what was occurring under Petrino.

When you don't, you end up hitting the intramural fields for a QB...like with Nutt.

Now your reaching Dale.

He was only #2 because we didn't have another legit SEC QB on the roster.

Do we have another legit SEC QB on the roster now?

That remains to be seen.

Fix the damn defense Bert!

It wasn't a reach, it was the depth chart.

Storey likely isn't going to transfer, I would guess.

Either way he saved Kelly's redshirt this year.

If Kelly is the future, that is 3 years as a starter compared to only 2, big difference no?

You do realize Peavey, Town and Storey (likely he goes as grad transfer or he leaves this spring) will all be moving on because they weren't good enough to beat out Austin, who has another year, or Cole Kelley who is the future... right?

Bring in a scholarship QB every year is smart because only 1 person plays. Others move on for a chance to play if buried in depth.

Hyatt in 17, Noland in 18 and hopefully Gunnell in 19.

I don't understand why you are bitching about walk-on QBs who only help our WRs catch more balls in practice. They aren't taking up a roster spot other than the 105.

I'm bitching because not a damn QB on the roster since Bert has been here has shown that they're a legit back up QB.

If AA had went down in week 4, no way we would have 7 wins.

I get the walk on program, but damn, how many of them do you need.

Rant over!

So Austin wasn't a capable backup to his brother?

Even Tyler Wilson looked like shite while backing up Mallett his first rs-freshman season, he looked worse his true frosh year against Texas...

none of them have really been needed except for his first year here and the derpy experiment took place

aside from that the only real playing time one of our backup QB's has seen is when Austin came in for his injured brother to beat Ole Miss

don't see how you've arrived at your assumed conclusions

Gotta take 1 qb a year in my opinion.
