Spent some time in this area looking for moving opportunities. The area is beautiful, but it's obvious hearing the rumblings on this board that traffic can be a bitch. I've mentioned before that I'm medical and will be commuting to nearby hospitals. I'm guessing Washington Regional would be easiest commute. Not sure what type of problems trying to get to Mercy from that area would be.

All that being said, is the interchange of hwy 62 and I49 a nightmare?

All interchanges are a nightmare right now. There is construction from Bella Vista to Fayetteville.

It can be a bit slow but having experienced Memphis traffic recently I'd give anything to have Fayetteville rush hour be the worst traffic I deal with.

PG/Farmington to Fayetteville can be difficult.

As a part of the 6-laning of I-49 through the metro, the Hwy 62/I-49 interchange will be rebuilt and that will speed things up a bit.

Rupple Rd is a new parkway that will let people cut through west Fayetteville to get to other areas without getting on the freeway. It may not even be on any maps. The section between Hwy 62/MLK and Wedington is brand new.

Same here with dealing with Dallas morning traffic every day. It sucks.

I mean, from prarie grove to mercy, at 7:30am, you are looking at an hour, maybe longer of stop and go.

It's not for me.

Also known as God's country or the best town ever. What else do you need to know?

Not at all. I should disclose that Farmington is my hometown. The promise land, if you will.

Farmington does offer a good small town, good public schools, slow pace of life. The mountain views to the south are something else.

I don't think the commute is anything remotely resembling "big city" traffic.

When I lived in Farmington my wife was an RN at WRMC, and hated the commute. 62 and Weddington both suck at peak hours.

What hours did she work? I normally leave the house at 0550 where I am now for a 20 min commute.

It's not bad early in the morning, between 7 and 9 is when it's bad.
