This has probably been talked about, but I haven't posted in awhile so I don't care. The reason we were in the games against Bama the prior two seasons had to do with us running the ball and controlling the clock. Throwing it every down is never going to beat Bama and I'm not sure why our coaches thought it would this year.

I don't care if the run game isn't working, against a far superior opponent you run all game to shorten it and limit their offensive plays. Coaching 101

i envision it being like those worthless goal line plays against the aggies if we'd have tried to run all game. i do get your point about hogging the time but would we have ever scored?

We score exactly zero points doing that.

What we saw wasn't our gameplan.
We were taken out of that pretty early.

We wouldn't have shortened the game at all. We would have just went 3 and out every time and left our defense on the field all game. They were getting whipped early and often. If we would have tried to run we would have given Bama the ball even more and they would have hung 70 on us easy

That was the dumbest shite I've read on here in a while. We would have gotten shut out if we did that and would have to be lucky to have 100 total yards.

So do y'all think calling play action all game was a good idea when they knew we weren't going to run it? AA got his shite kicked bc of poor play calling all game

I'm not saying don't pass at all dumb fricks, I'm saying at least attempt running the ball more. They weren't even respecting the play action, all together terrible idea to throw that much against them. Look at all the INT's

I'm mainly focusing on first downs when we kept trying to play action every time and AA was getting his dick rammed into the dirt for 15 yard losses

Seemed to me we were using the play action in hopes it would lull them to sleep before we actually handed it off

The only team we've been able to run on for shite is Alcorn State. And you think trying to run on Bama would have scored us more than the 30 points we got throwing? Holy shite

Well throwing the ball all game certainly didn't give a chance either. It did put AA at risk for losing the ability to walk or talk again. He gets put out, season over.

It was pretty obvious by midway through the first quarter that we had zero chance of winning this game. Cut your losses and shorten the game

Easily the dumbest shite I've read on the rant in awhile.

Alabama defense only gives up 60 rushing yards per game. Saban knows Bielema wants to run so he's going to force us to beat them passing. I said it before the game and I was right. Nearly every running play got stuffed at the line.

There were only a couple of decent runs in the second half and that's only because we had been running play action.

That's exactly how Ole Miss beat them the last 2 years.

That's a great way to lose all the respect of your players.

You lose respect of your players by trying to run the ball more? Our defense had no chance. Airing it out wasn't going to work, so run it more.

If we try and get into a shootout with Ole Miss by throwing every play we're going to be 0-3 in the SEC.

It did work and we could have won but our pass pro sucks and our defense sucks.

Show me one team that's had success running the ball against Bama.

So we lose 10-30 instead? I mean we were going to have to beat them through the air to open up the run game later in the game. The issue was we got behind so early and were forced to throw the whole game.

Bama was daring Arkansas to pass, just as they have done the past decade and do to every team they face.

Every first and most 2nd downs saw 5-7 man rushes, that is very hard to run on which is why teams who beat Bama either have 100+ yards rushing or an absurd amount of yards gained through the air. Usually big plays make the difference in the score in these games as you have to be able to make Bama pay for their aggressiveness, if you can't, they aren't going to let up on the aggressive D until the score is well in hand.
