Ive got a real problem here...and Im serious.

I hate blaming officials. There is one game that Arkansas was involved in where I blame the officials for the loss. That was Florida in 2009 in football. Haven't done it since, never did it before...but Ive got to be honest here...

College Basketball is becoming unbearable for me...literally. Ive been a fan of this sport for as long as I have of college football. College Basketball was my first love actually because of my grandfather. My first college athletic event atmosphere was in Barnhill Arena in the 1980's as a small child. I am just finding it hard to watch any longer.

We lost by 26 to Kentucky the other night, so only blaming the officials seems like a stretch, but it was unbearable. Both teams were even at FT attempts in the first half and KY led by three. In the second half, immediately Barford is put in foul trouble and KY is in the double bonus by the 13 minute mark of the half. They proceed to shoot nearly 30 FTs in one half, as compared to 9 for Arkansas.

The flow of the game is terrible. I think what makes me even more upset is that the NCAA Tourney is officiated so much differently. The product is still good, but the product is being held back by 3 individuals who want to dictate the game more so than the players on the court or the coaches on the sideline.

I am a big proponent in the mens college game going to 4 quarters and resetting team fouls at the end of each quarter. Granted, this would not help the shitty calls by officials, but it would help negate a team being rewarded for a shitty foul call and eliminating a lot of the free throws in the game.
