I don't see it that way. Apparently Pittman never sold his home here. He grew up right down the road.

Sure, a big part of it is the chance to make 3 million a year, but he also genuinely wants to be here. That is easy to see. He's not an actor. He isn't up there vying for a Golden Globe.

Yep. He apparently grew up listening to Hog games with his uncle as well. I read that well prior to the hiring, he had mentioned to some reporter that when he retired he'd be moving back to Arkansas.

I have plenty of questions regarding this hire. Dude's passion for the state and team are not one of them.

I believe him too, but it’s mostly a business decision. If by some miracle he were to win big here we’d see how much he loves the helmet when better offers come rolling in.

Pittman is 58. If he wins big, he'll be retiring here. I don't seem him coaching more than 6 to 7 more years. If he is eventually fired, I see him just retiring early with his buyout money. He and his wife want to be close to family as their parents are really up in age.

Dude's 58 and just took his first head coaching position. I really doubt he will be looking to uproot and start over at a different school in his early to mid-60s. Let's stop grasping at straws here.

Fair points on drink for sure.

The overall optics of this whole thing suck but I need to keep reminding myself it is what it is.

We suck at a historic level, I need to remember that. I left Fayetteville in 2011 and only visited for games in 2014 and 2015.

Went to one Bert game against AU in 2016 and quit going back so my perspective is skewed towards a high amount of success.

Feel sorry for the kids in school right now. I was spoiled with DMAC and Petrino while I was on the hill.

Now just imagine growing up watching the Arkansas basketball team winning conference championships, conference tournaments, and making deep runs in the NCAA tournament every season. The last 23 years have been tough for us hoop fans.

I grew up in Fayetteville. Was there my friend.

But yea, being on the hill in the early 90s would have been awesome for a number of reasons.
