Just saw where he declared for the NBA draft but has NOT hired an agent. If he leaves, this may be the final nail in the coffin for Mike.

He'll be back, just getting his feedback and combine experience. The new rules make this a great thing.

quote:

“This is a great opportunity for Moses to get an evaluation for the next level and take full advantage of the new rules in place,” Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson said. “He emerged as one of the elite players in the SEC this year and we fully support his decision to explore his options.”

He also had this gem of a quote at the banquet last night

quote:

Razorback Basketball ?@RazorbackMBB Defensive Player of the Year = Moses Kingsley. "I would like to thank Dusty for letting his guy blow by him so I could get a block."

How does he not grade out as a first round pick and go pro?

He is closer to undrafted than first round. Cmon bruh.

Latest projections have him 49th and 52nd on their big boards.

No low post game is the biggest knock, and that's a pretty damn big knock.

I would think a lot of teams would take a late first round chance on him considering how much better he's gotten in the past two years. He runs the floor like a small forward and has good handles for a big. He's gonna be a long term NBA player IMO

Next year sure. Would likely go undrafted this year, best case back end of 2nd round which is where all the projections have him.

The new rules are great though, he'll get his evaluation, and if invited, get to go through the combine and meet with teams, before returning to school.

Europe is always an option.

You never know what scout my see or what a team would offer for his services.

I think it's pretty common that these draft grades come back a lot higher than what is reality.

When you think about the skin in the game, it's in the best interest of the NBA to for a kid to come out early get drafted lower than he expected and then the NBA teams have leverage over the kid and the agent.

It's kinda like having the homeowner also do your inspection. Your interests are not what they're concerned about.

Common sense is all Moses needs to understand he needs to continue to work to improve. Portis dropped to the 20's and Bobby is a much more complete player.

Would be nice to see Mike coach the offense around Moses to open up more looks on the outside and for backside layups.

Kentucky's entire team including the walk-ons have declared for the draft.

Cal is encouraging this.

It gives them a fair evaluation of what needs to be improved in their game by NBA scouts, a few of them will get a work out at the combine and can still come back if they choose.

Moses has no offense and while 6'9 has short arms do its really like he's 6'7 or 8. Undrafted

I have no idea where he may get drafted, be it this year or next. But the idea that his offense is some huge red flag? I don't get it.

1) I still think he DOES have a good post game, but he wasn't asked/didn't assert himself enough/whatever. But we've all seen him work some of those Olajuwon'esque moves over the last 3 years (seldom, but it happens). He seems to have good feet and has certainly shown an ability to improve (relatively new to the game after all). I'm not privy to a lot of the inside info that some of Mike's close friends and family are, so maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he's terrible in the post and that's why they don't feed him that much. I'm not at practices so I don't know how he looks there, either. I saw one of the draft sites that mentions his low post game and my first thought was, "How far back did they look?" Because I don't think the skill is the issue, myself. He just wasn't assertive/didn't get the looks. Of course, I didn't see him as much this season (so busy) as I would have liked.

2) Have you seen the NBA centers these days? Zaza Pachulia started the vast majority of the mavs games this year. How many centers today are dominant low post scorers or anything more than role players? You can make the argument that he would have to play PF in the NBA and his offense isn't good enough there, which I would agree with. But given today's NBA I think he can play center on offense, while most likely being able to guard 4s and 5s well enough on defense.

You are severely under estimating how skilled NBA players are. Zaza would Ave 25-30 a game if he played in the sec.UT in perspective Portis dominated I the block in the sec I have not see Portis make one post move all year long do u have any idea the pain Zaza would inflict on sec post men

Zaza thus year is a avg. 11 points, 10 rebounds 1 assist and 1 block in 29 mons a game he's 6'11 with a 7'3 wingspan he's effectively half a foot taller than Kingsley

And he was a late second round pick

If you think a 6-8 wingspan center who had no post moves is going to be one of 60 picks I got a bridge to sell you

Where are you seeing a 6'8" wingspan? NBA draft has him 6'10" with a 7'2" wingspan.

If he has a seven 2 wingspan that's news to me. He plays smaller than his height.

I WANT him to be successful but that does not change the fact he's not gonna get drafted this year.

You still can't convince me Portis should have came out this year

.
He'd be no worse than 6th in this draft. His minutes probably diubke, he develops faster my he's worth more when his second contract is up

Portis has a higher per than Devin booker, do Angelo Russell trey lies, mudiwy , Kaminsky , henzoja, Stanley johnson, justice Winslow he is playing better than literally 9 of the 13 picks in the lottery yet when people all about hi it's hell be a decent but not great pjsyer...soley based on his draft position
