So the wife is wanting to get me a 24x36 canvas print of this picture. Problem is she can't find any high res files to use on shutterfly. Of course use this one and it looks horrible. I am sure the University has a picture of this, but would they provide it to somebody so they could do this or would I have to buy it from them?

The original person that took it is your best bet.
Try to track the photog down.
He deserves some royalty money.
Last ditch effort there are sites out there that will rework images into hi-res or vector format.

That's a high up picture, you sure it was taken by a professional photographer
