While I know what you are getting at clinically, take three depressives, put them in a room with someone who isn't for a few hours... and follow the social experiment, especially with young people.
But no, I believe he was thinking about the mental health is safety of others when one comes unglued, perhaps he can answer

New to Arkansas Razorback fandom huh? We're all depressed all the time. I can come in here with a somewhat positive attitude and Dale Denton can drag me to depression in a split second. I can hit up a game thread, see its started by Pio, and go from hopefulness to gloom in an instant.
It's just contagious.

Are you under the impression that others, sometimes many others, end up as collateral damage when the mental illness wins? All you have to do is check the headlines about mass casualty and murder suicide events to know that is the case. It's not a commentary on Devo, or whatever he has going on, it's just facing reality. It simply isn't uncommon for those with mental illness to take others with them when they go, which quite possibly puts others at risk.

That’s a pretty big leap a small fraction of mental health issues are going to result in suicide. A small fraction of suicides are going involve physically harming others. And a small fraction of those would be considered mass casualties…
