If this has been discussed then zap it.

I know that's a normal strategy but I also know how the pressure sucks our offensive ability to play good ball. Given our proclivities for melt it seems like not putting the pressure of having to come from behind- in other words at least they go onto the field with it 0-0 not down with only one possession to do something about it.

That's probably the least thing I should be complaining/second guessing but it's been nagging at me since Sunday night.

Working thru the stages,

Piggi :)

Because for any other team you want to know what you have to do in overtime. We aren't, however, any other team.

It is the no brainer call, unless you just can't handle being down no matter what.

Because if the other team commits a turnover then you know you only have to have a fg.

If the other team scores a TD, you now know you have 4 downs to work with.

Its basic football 101.

I know that much but just seems to me on the rare occasion it's not a bad idea to break from the norm in specific instances.

I'm realize I'm being too nit picky- we would have lost either way I'm sure.

It's the right call 100% of the time. You know what you need to do on offense.

If you look at the A&M game, let's say the coin toss was reversed.

We get the ball, stopped on 3rd down. We kick a FG on 4th because we didn't know that A&M was going to score a TD. Since we played defense 1st we knew we had to go for it on 4th down to stay alive.

Yeah, I get that completely, I just still think it gives BA less time to think/fret/have a nervous breakdown if he went first.

And I don't know that I agree with the others that 100% of the time one particular call is always the right call. Perhaps I have a little too much gambler in me.
