Due to a conversation on tRant, I looked up our defense's performances against the run in every game this year. What I found out was actually a bit of a surprise to me.

The Arkansas defense has only allowed one 100 yard rushing game by an opposing running back all year, and he needed 37 carries and 4 overtimes to get 120 yards. Hurd? Less than 100. Henry? 27 carries, less than 100.

auburn had 12 rushing yards in the 3rd qtr. we are dominant against the run. I have felt like we could stop 4 net all year and I haven't waivered in that feeling. we just can't stop the pass, and because of that a qb scramble.

I guess the question is how good is the defense at stopping the run? I realize the lack of 100 yard rushers but as a whole can we say we have a good defense against the run? Seems like one of the Auburn backs had some success.

It's going to be important going into the LSU game because if we can shut down LF7 or hold him reasonably in check we should do well as we did last year and as Bama did this year. If we can hold him to reasonable yardage as we did with Henry we stand a good shot at winning. HOWEVER if their QB is utilized to where they actually pass in this game with some regularity then they probably capitalize on our weak pass defense. Success there probably opens it up for LF7 to have a good game.

I know a number of the LSU fans were critical of Miles because Harris threw the ball very little against Bama. I have no doubt they'll run LF7 but I think a successful offensive game plan has to include some balance with Harris throwing the ball more than a token amount of times in the game.

We shouldn't hold back in this game.

Even after being embarrassed by bama five straight, I still think Miles can weather the storm of a loss to Arkansas.

We should go ahead and take this game and assume they keep Miles for 2016.

They probably lose to Ole Miss, so it will be a nail bitter as to whether they keep him another year.

I think you're forgetting we're about to play a Les Miles coached LSU team.

Yep, we're fine against the run. It's the pass that kills us.

I think they could probably lose out and Les would be safe, although there would be some whiny kitten fans. Les has done a damn fine job overall and I'm not sure if there's more than just a couple coaches out there that could do any better. Only way Les goes is if they have a top tier, proven championship caliber coach lined up.
