It is definitely hard to root for other teams even in other sports and league's. I can't figure out what MLS team to root for. I grew up in a household that was split with cardinals and reds. Which I grew up liking both..which has obviously caused problem's...and confusion. Grew up rooting for both the Cowboys and the Saints lmao. It's pretty hard to explain my situation with people who come from city's and states with pro teams. They just can't comprehend what I am trying to tell them. Pretty funny actually.

I'd die right along with them Hogs. I can't imagine a world where I'm as fanatical about any other team/school than the Razorbacks.

i really wish i'd said that. my fandom without the hogs would have no heart and soul or passion- would just be rah rah'ing to rah rah.

Ole Miss Rebels

And why?

I grew up following them second to the Hogs. My dad graduated from Ole Miss and his love for the school undoubtedly had something to do with it.

...but I love the Hogs and that's for real.

The difference in atmosphere between a Sun Belt game and a P5 game is enough for me to not root for them.

We are dealing in assumptions here...

IF the Hogs were no more, THEN there's the assumption that ASU would be bigger and possibly in a P5 conference.

However, if they were biggest team we had in state, I'd still pull for them, even if it was Sun Belt.

Just too much Arky in my blood I guess, my direct line of family moved to Arkansas from Mississippi in 1859.

I attended Southern Illinois University, majoring in drunken debauchery, for about a year before I was invited to not come back. I suppose I could cheer for them.

Go Salukis!

Nah. Doesn't have the same ring to it.

There's a large portion of Arkansas that is geographically closer to Ole Miss than the University of Arkansas, so it's no suprise there's some Ole Miss attraction.

However, it's still in 'another state' for me and I have to stick with stAte.

I just flat out wouldn't like football. I don't even watch NFL because Arkansas doesn't have a team. Sure, there's Arkansas State, who I honestly don't mind. But I think I'd honestly rather watch UCA. UCA at least theoretically competes for championships in their division of football. Arkansas State, like all the other G5 teams, exists in some kind of weird limbo where they don't play FCS, but also don't REALLY play FBS. Teams like stAte used to compete for "BCS Buster" as their best case scenario. Now they don't even have that.

So, I guess UCA or nothing at all. Most likely nothing at all.

You know, that could be a pretty cool game at War Memorial every year.

I think Arkansas vs. Arkansas State in WMS every year would be pretty awesome. I don't know why so many people are so afraid of playing them.
