Let's agree to bump this thread in March when we are no longer playing.

Lets do that, it should be fun. I doubt you will be the one bumping it but it will be fun to read.

Astute post. I support bumping this thread. Especially since bumping it was my idea.

Well, I said in the post directly above you that we might suck. Clearly I wasn't comparing us to a #1 team. I was showing that you can't make conclusions about a team based on an exhibition game.

This seems so obvious that I can only conclude either (A) You're mentally incapable of grasping my simple point. Or (B) you are intentionally missing the point in order to continue with your bashing of the team.

In either case, I stand by my previous statement.

frick off.

Right. You were just comparing us to a blue blood program who happened to be #1 that year. Completely different

I'm wait-and-see with this team but, no, I don't think we have elite eight talent. Hoping for an NCAAt appearance.

We actually over performed last year given circumstances, so that gives me some hope going forward. Even in down years Mike seems to be able to put together a competent team. However, I wouldn't be against moving on if he has another sub 20-win season. (18/19 wins would be borderline, how the team looked/improved would also be a factor)

No, he was using an example to express that exhibition games don't always mean anything in regards to the actual season. Too difficult for Pucker Face?

So are you saying yesterdays 35pt win shouldn't be an indicator about our season?

Some people on this site would rather us lose just to feel like they were right about something

Yeah, neither mean much in the scheme of things.

Why not use a more relevant example? Like bring up that time we lost an exhibition game and went on to a great season in hoops. Or has this never happened before??????

I think we all know we aren't Syracuse. This is like saying well I know a guy who had a 2.2 GPA at Harvard and still got a job at Goldman Sachs.

If you are using that as an argument that a UA WCOB student could have a 2.2 and get a job at GS, that would be a false cognate, just like this is

It really doesn't matter- he used a perfectly fine example that normal (non bitter) adults would comprehend.

I'm sorry we won yesterday, that must have really wrecked your week.

I'm not at all happy with our basketball team or MA's philosophy of ball in general, but the boys played a hell of a game. 25 turn overs and they upped their 3 pt % from the last game. It'll be interesting to see who the break out start this season is--the stats are spread around so far. Maybe Beard can come back and shut me up, I'm hopeful he can.

Here's the official write up on the game: LINK

I like this team.

Unlike last year we have a roster full of athletes. Some are more polished than the others, but the upside is legit.

It will be an interesting year. Really looking forward to it.

I comprehend it, that's why I'm criticizing it

Only this board finds a way to pump sunshine when we lose to some bullshite team in Spain. This is how we end up with these lackluster coaches.

I dont want us to lose. That's the point of criticizing our current regime, who does a lot of losing. In conference. On the road. In nonconference. Pretty much we lose no matter what.

If Mike started winning I would be his biggest fan. I don't give a frick about who the coach is if they win. Now, if they continuously underperform, they need to go. How many years are we in "rebuilding mode"? This phrase is adopted by lackluster coaches everywhere to explain subpar results. I don't know how everyone falls hook line and sinker for it. When the frick will we quit rebuilding and be "built"??

For $3+ M a year in fb, we should be building pretty fricking rapidly. Not staring down the barrel of another 6-6 and a Texas bowl. Hoops is worse

You call it pumping sunshine, I call it being reasonable when we're discussing EXHIBITION games.

I doubt there's more than one (if even one) person on this board who isn't of the opinion that Mike needs to go if we don't have a good season.

I'm done with you anyway, I wish I could click a button and just ignore all your bullshite hysteria.

If you think there was sunshine pumping then you are delusional. Being optimistic isn't sunshine pumping. As stated before a vast majority of the fan base believes he needs to go with a bad season but throwing a fit after the first exhibition game doesn't do anything but make you look foolish. Start this thread when some actually games have been played that count.

So everyone agrees with me, but they all have a chapped arse just because I'm just starting early?

That's fine with me

I may be early, but I'm not wrong
