I guess after Michigan fricked us, that's the best we could do.

Games with ULL getting too close so Bert had to take a step down to insure wins.

Hell thats probably why we only play FCS teams in LR now. Bert isn't good enough to beat FBS cupcakes in a "road game" with 45-55 thousand calling the hogs.

Looks like we are hosting Colorado St in 2018. I wouldn't mind that as our replacement away FBS game. FoCo is nice.

On that note, is there any way we can make Portland St a road game, too?

Michigan backing out really put us in a pickle. One thing I have always liked about our program is that we usually have at least one P5 team on the OOC schedule. I am guessing now, we will not in 18 & 19.

Colorado State isn't a terrible mid major game, but Portland State...woof...Watch us go undefeated in 2019 and the West be down and our one chance at the playoff is negated by our shitty OOC schedule.

Thats just....Arkansas luck

At this point I would be ok with that

Better yet, watch us not.

That is Arkansas luck.

It wasn't just that they backed out, that happens after all, its that they backed out at a relatively late date. Most P5 teams have their schedules more or less made out for years, particularly when it comes to facing an OOC P5 school.

That means most schools out there already have a P5 opponent lined up for the next five or six years. No one wants to pencil in the Hogs on the fly if they already have a tough OOC foe on the schedule.

I get why Michigan did it, don't get me wrong. Notre Dame is the goose that lays the golden egg in the Midwest. I think its a mistake on their part, playing an SEC team would help their recruiting in the South, but its Notre Dame. Most any Midwest school will cheerfully rewrite their schedule to get that game.

BYU has open dates that work in 2018 and19, not sure why the deal hasn't been worked out. I might do a 3 year deal with BYU and have the 2020 game in Houston or Dallas. Also, cancel the Aggie contract for Dallas and move those games to campus

Oh yeah. That is true. But in the Midwest they are still Notre Dame.

We may all see and say the Emperor has no clothes... but to them its still the second biggest game on the schedule. No matter how much Notre Dame sucks the meat missile to the schools in the Midwest they are still Notre Dame from the heyday of Midwest football.
