What I want to know is what y'all are going to do about Gus having agents out there taping y'all during our game.
A couple of Gus's Springdale buddies were caught trying to film practice before the Auburn game a couple years ago...

Yeah, I remember hearing about that. Suddenly the guy at our game being an Auburn grad makes an awful lot of sense...
Set sail.

The main problem I have with it would be the video he took being put on twitter by someone involved with the bama program.
So he's taking video on the sideline, OK, but why is that video making its way to anyone associated with any university and then twitter?

In all seriousness...
Auburn and Bama fans can be surprisingly capable of crossing lines and working together. It's part and parcel of sharing the state with them and, in a lot of cases, being close to them (families, friends, spouses, coworkers, etc.)
My main question is whether this video went out onto the Internet before or after the last whistle was blown, and whether the 'Bama guy got his hands on it during the game... and how he got his hands on it.
We may never know the answer to all of these questions. The Bama guy should never have put it on the Internet. If they're friends, it put his buddy in a pretty shitty position.

I agree his friend put him in a super shitty situation. I am wondering why the mfer was recording anyways. now that I know he is an auburn alum it raises more questions. there is no telling what was really going on but I wouldn't count anything out to be honest. bret did say there was 2 schools in that state when asked about it.

I have to wonder if Bert and his staff vetted the [volunteer] ESPN sideline crew. Maybe he knew the guy's background as an Auburn grad going in, even if he didn't know the guy was going to be recording.

I think at this point bret knows there is a ton of "gamesmanship" going on from gus and crew and I think at this point he knew after he heard of the video he knew what was really going on. I apologize for hog fans jumping at bama about this when we all should have known who really was behind this. I think at this point we can all agree that it wasn't a coincidence and gus had a buddy helping him. there has been far too much between bret and gus to think otherwise. the auburn flop 2 years ago. the elevator incident and the recording last year. the fact that Auburn stole FSU'S signals. I think the guy was there to try and get what he could for gus. my only hope is at this point that since espn's legal team confiscated the video that gus didn't get it before they got it but I doubt it at this point.

Apology accepted. I was really just along for tSailboat ride in the other threads. It'd been waaaaaaaaay too long since I'd seen some real sailing.
Well, given Gus's history with this sort of thing and just how poorly they're playing this year, he might do what he can to snatch a W.

really I've sailed this along but I'm starting to think there might be something behind this. i wouldn't put it passed gus and crew. I can't say for sure, but I think looking at what has happened in the past is the best Indicator of what will happen in the present and future. Gus has attempted things like this before, he probably will again.

I mean, it's entirely possible. Admittedly I'm not as familiar with the situation(s) as Hog fans are but what makes you stop and scratch your head is the precedent.
When shite like this keeps cropping up surrounding the highschool-tier programs you're running, eventually someone has to stop and take a look. I don't know if Gus wants anyone peering that closely.

Now that it's Auburn and not Bama, will the Bama posters change their tune?

Some, perhaps. Not all.
I've always been pro-Arky. The newer posters who haven't been around since tFlagship first set sail and aren't as familiar with the Arky M.O. on tRant aren't going to be as quick to embrace the sail. I always do. Petrino's tenure marked -- in my opinion -- a golden age on the rant.
